The advice online was to unbuckle the seatbelt then put it behind you and buckle it back up. The buckle being present disables the seat sensor from turning off the car when you get up. Or "leave it in neutral" but I wasn't willing to do that.

The car is an EV with those new fancy keys, so there is no "engine on" state. The car is either on or off. You get in and push the brake and the car is "on" you put on the parking brake and let go of the brake and the car turns off. I searched for a setting in the fancy menus and nothing.

When the car turns off, my phone disconnects, the GPS destination is cleared and I have to go through all that setup again! I'm happy to wear my seatbelt all the time I drive but I need to be able to get out of the car without it shutting off to do small things sometimes

I bought one of these and I am not ashamed of it. I get in the car, setup my phone, put in my GPS destination, get music playing and am about to pull away when I notice that I forgot to close the charger door. Only with this buckle in can I get out to close the door without the car turning fully off

What I find crazy is that Nintendo is like "Nah trophies distract from the pure expression of game play" ... but then will self code in "Toadette power moons" in Mario Odyssey that reward you for doing certain achievements in the game and pretend those are different things.

If the power goes out, heat pumps don't work and 500 people still get cold, if my power or my gas goes out (old house 😪) my heat isn't working. However the benefit of socializing heating is the same benefit of socializing energy production. It's cheaper and should be more reliable if maintained.

I believe passkeys are more phishing resistant. Of course "not being a moron" covers alot of things. Having the protection built in is better than expecting the user to be competent. Is that worth it? I don't know, but I personally like them and use them the moment a place gives me the chance to.

What is wrong with Bitwarden's implementation? I've only ever used BW for passkeys so I don't know anything else, but the only difficulty I've ever had is getting Chrome/Android to let me use BW. Once I get that sorted(and re-sorted when Android resets the setting) it seems fine enough.

This! The amount of difficulty I go through just to be able to store my passkeys in bitwarden is astounding. Passkeys really could have revolutionized the web, but instead they are becoming a footnote in history under the Corporate Greed header.

Proportional representation means that your votes are more likely to count towards representation. So if a party has 35% of the votes they get about 35% of the seats. They'd have to get substantial more voters to get more control. You can't just swing a couple key ridings to get majority control

That's my point. Minority with FPTP is unstable and don't require the parties to work together and so little gets done. Minority governments with proportional representation makes it much more useful for parties to work together because they won't be able to just wait for a swing election.

A minority government is not a flaw but a fundamental feature. If a party gets a minority of the votes they get a minority of the seats. The problem with minority governments currently is that they don't have to work together, they just wait for another election to swing a majority, that's a problem

The counter argument to this is that it is possible to play games on a Commodore 64. If gaming hardware becomes so expensive that the majority of players can't afford it. Then there will be developers who fill that gap by making more simple or more optimized games.

In-game progression, you have the launch codes that you get at the end of the tutorial and like 2 events that only affect the final credits scene.

After 2017, I swore I'd never vote Liberal again. But I voted red in the last election because of the importance ... but that's it. If in the next election my vote "doesn't count" and causes a conservative swing, then that is on the Liberals, they've had their chance and chose to squander it.

When a party has majority control without the majority of the people voting for you ... that is not the "will of the people", that's a broken election system. The majority of people actually didn't vote for Ford so the "will of the people" is actually the opposite of what he does.

This is the most I have ever committed to anything in my life and I'm so proud... and I'm not doing any more. The amount of AI garbage happening in #Duolingo now makes it absolutely unbearable to continue. I will definitely continue to learn, but Duolingo won't be in my arsenal any longer!
