Who knew you can dig exquisite crystal butt plugs right out of the earth
A clear crystal thing with a faceted knob that is probably a door handle or something in a museum display. There is another black quartzy rock of some kind about which I have nothing facetious to say.

Not as unsettling as the upside-down peas. But I don't like it.
A retail unit under refurbishment with an enormous decal over the whole window and door, featuring two cups of brown liquid being clinked together. The cups are tilted towards each other, but the surface of the liquid is also tilted, revealing that these are photos of level cups that have been rotated. The edges of the cups are not smoothly isolated, very apparent at this large scale. The light details on the cups reveal that one is simply a flipped copy of the other. There is an asbtracted line drawing of each cup superimposed on each cup. The background is a deep orange with a sketchy clip art illustration of the London skyline. Little pen 'clink' lines appear above where the cups almost meet.

More dangerous radicalisation, I will be calling Prevent.
Homework sheet titled "Is the UK really rich?"
"STARTER: Decide whether you think the statement is about the UK or a different country.
More than 1 in 5 people live in poverty. UK/NOT THE UK
Poverty levels are increasing. UK/NOT THE UK
3.4 million households (58%) report not having enough money for food. UK/NOT THE UK
1 in 6 adults have very poor literacy skills. UK/NOT THE UK
The malel ife expectancy in some parts of the country is 66. UK/NOT THE UK
The male life expectancy in some parts of the country is 94. UK/NOT THE UK
Air pollution causes 43,000 deaths a year. UK/NOT THE UK
6th richest country in the world. UK/NOT THE UK"
All answers have "UK" circled in pen and there is a big red tick. A handwritten response reads: "Stretch: I think they are all the UK because people's living standards are very diverse."

Heheh despite everything I love how the school curriculum is pretty woke, how did this stuff survive the Tories?
A photocopied worksheet showing a map of the world. A printed question asks "where is the western part of the map? What countries do you think are included in 'the West's?" In biro, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand have been highlighted, and the words "SOCIAL CONSTRUCT - THE WEST IS NOT GEOGRAPHICAL" added. A stretch exercise asks for a definition of Eurocentric.

The Player of Games by Iain M Banks. A stock photo of a silhouetted figure in a suit standing with their arms folded on a stairway. There is a blue light behind them. Absolutely terrible cover, bears no relation to the actual book, just looks like the most generic mass market thriller imaginable, not an SF classic by - at the time of this edition - one of the biggest and most respected writers in both SF and contemporary fiction.

I like the cover of this collected Poe.
A copy of Edgar Allan Poe's Complete Tales & Poems. It's just type and some flourishes in a kind of art deco/late 60s psychedelic design. The colour scheme is silver, black, orange and mustard.

What have I done. I’m meant to be sticking a 3D trajectory in here but I’ve done too many lines and now I’m just staring at it, mesmerised, like when you draw a line in front of a chicken. I could do with making the line with maths rather than just guessing but I’m not sure how to do that.
Detail of an After Effects comp. A simple map of London is on the floor of a grid box/3D graph with red x, y and z axes. There is a white line linking the word 'house' in Balham to 'Kim's office' in Islington, and a blue line above that which is meant to be a the white line but with the z axis employed to show time. There are also a bunch of thin blue vertical guide lines, and a layer is highlighted so its three rotation axis arrows are visible. It is very confusing.

I wonder if A24 know that to British people (or British people over 40 or so anyway) this basically translates as 'The Delightful Contraption ' and we are going to expect a whimsical musical number of that title. How good is Johnson's singing voice? Can you tell what the Rock is humming?
A red London bus, on the side of which is a poster for The Smashing Machine starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. On the poster, Johnson and Blunt are at the side of some kind of fighting ring, presumably mid fight. Not sure what the movie is actually about, probably a Big Daddy biopic.

The car over the way has laid some eggs! I don't have a driving license so was unaware of this stage in the vehicular life cycle.
The rear of a parked car. On the ground behind it are about seven eggs, very similar in size and colouring to hen eggs, weirdly enough. The car is the same purple of a delicious taro pastry I had in a Filipino bakery one time and looking at it makes me hungry which is annoying because the car is nearly always parked there and it's opposite the window by my desk.
