Today, Russia struck a school in Kyiv with a drone during the morning hours. At the time of the strike, about 100 schoolchildren and 60 staff members were in the shelter; fortunately, no one was hurt. Who does that? What kind of barbarians attack children on a school day?

This aligns exactly with what we know about noncitizen voting; it is extremely rare (9 noncitizen votes in MN out of 3,253,920 in the 2024 election, or 0.0002%), and when it occurs it’s most often green card holders who were mistakenly told they could vote (none of these people are undocumented).

Frances Ellen Watkins Harper in 1893, a photo that appeared in L.A. Scruggs’ book Women of Distinction: Remarkable in Works and Invincible in Character, published that same year. Harper stands as one of the most prolific, versatile and influential architects of American social reform. A century before the term “intersectionality” existed, she championed the idea that human rights are indivisible. As a lecturer, she helped galvanize public opinion against slavery and demand that newly emancipated people be guaranteed voting rights. As a gifted writer, she weaponized fiction and poetry to humanize the enslaved and combat patriarchy. Through her journalism, she challenged white supremacist violence, demanded that political leadership be held accountable and mobilized the Black community. Ultimately, Harper dedicated every gift she possessed — her voice, her pen, her education and her income — to the collective uplift of her people.

NEW: DHS's Inspector General releases a scathing report about the Everglades detention camp known as "Alligator Alcatraz." The OIG finds that the now-closed camp, violated multiple ICE standards. The OIG also confirms detainees were punished with placement in a metal cage in the Florida heat.🧵

The cage itself is placed on a tiny spot of fake turf, and then surrounded by another chainlink fence with razor wire on top. The cage is covered by a roof, but it's entirely exposed to the outside otherwise, meaning mosquitos and no air conditioning.
