NEW INTERVIEW: Frogwares Lead Sound Designer Viacheslav “Slava” Pakalin on The Sinking City 2. Our conversation is briefly interrupted by an active air-raid alert in Kyiv, and he explains how real sirens and Patriot anti-missile audio were used in the game. youtu.be/Ijy6Dh2bMtw?...

In addition to the Gears of War E:Day interview I also spoke with the Lead Sound Designer of The Sinking City 2 from Frogwares... it was really interesting to hear how actual air raid sirens recorded from his window made it into the game. Up now for channel members and Patrons.

It's not PC only. I played it on Xbox. The first game is much more akin to their Sherlock Holmes titles. This one is far more action oriented.

Just wrapped up The Sinking City 2 - fantastic Eldritch horror titles from Frogwares. Resident Evil style combat. Hidden gem of 2026.

Even as a Gears die-hard, E-Day truly impressed me. It's technical brilliance is is matched by strong character development and modernized gameplay, resulting in one of my favorite experiences of the year. My spoiler-free review for @seasonedgaming.bsky.social : www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVmv...

Gears of War E-Day's campaign is a stellar masterpiece. It's a Series X showpiece I that balances brilliant set pieces and combat with stoic sadness as the world around our characters falls in hopelessness. It's incredible, haunting, and worth every moment.

I took a bump to the head this week that caused a concussion. The complications mean I'm not able to finish my Gears of War review at embargo lift but I'll have it out in good time. Apologies folks.

Perhaps I'm just in my villain arc but I am beyond happy with the changes happening at Xbox. I'm excited for my favorite IP, I'm excited for the fire that seems lit, and for the potential future of Xbox. This is not endorsement of job losses - which I feel are meant to be a separate discussion.

I immediately got comments of "we're so fucked," but based on where Halo is at I don't know how this isn't good for the IP. Giving Halo to a new team under one of the biggest FPS publishers and having it sit alongside Call of Duty sounds - on paper - like Halo finally getting the right attention.

My first gut reactions to the Xbox reorganization is positive and these moves seem logical for the brand. I am not speaking of the job losses as I believe that to be a different topic.

InsipidGhost | Expansion Pass @insipidghost.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Kojima has one job with XBOX and it's to help sell XBOXes. Nothing short of that is worthwhile. My sincere hope is that it's a console exclusive.

Wolverine may not be landing critically, but I will say the more I see of the gameplay makes me wish it was on Steam.
