Finished this commissioned piece yesterday titled, "An Organizer's Heart," 2026, 15x7in., Mixed Media on Upcycled Wood #art #abstractart #painting #artcollector #psychedelic

A 15x7in. Mixed Media painting using paint markers, inks, and white out on an upcycled piece of wood broken down from a drawer in a piece of furniture somebody was throwing away. 👋 hey, everybody, I'm raffling off the painting in the first picture by selling 27 laminated raffle tickets for $27 apiece (domestic shipping included). Each ticket is an original mixed media piece on 7x10in watercolor paper, with an optional $15 framing upgrade available. This is a really good deal

A painting sitting on a rock by the Yuba River with the words ""Interiority," 2024, 18x24in, mixed media on upcycled bulletin board" floating at the top. The bulletin board has been spray painted black, and the painting is mostly blues, greens, purples, whites and blacks with neon pink and yellow highlights done with fluorescent chalk paint.

Two framed 7x10in mixed media paintings on watercolor paper. The first two are framed, with the first one abstract and multicolored with the word "ONE" written on it twice, the second raffle ticket is an abstract landscape drawinf of the Yuba River done with watercolor and inks, and the third is a progress shot of a raffle ticket done in blue, more similar to the artist's usual abstract style with the exception of the large "3" written as a digit in the center. Also included is the text "raffle tickets ($27 shipped, $42 framed & shipped)"

I started this piece in San Francisco and it appears to have started spontaneously A/B testing itself. Has this happened to anybody else?

Black ink drawing on an 8 in x10 giclée print of a colorful mixed media piece. The ink uses the suggestion of shapes in the greens, reds, blues, yellows, pinks, and browns of the background to bring out certain images, but they're hard to describe. While there are some real images in here there's also a whole lot of visual noise to make you see all sorts of stuff that isn't really there. For instance, in the bottom right quadrant, there's a bowl of food with steam on it that appears to be sitting on a red counter with a yellow background and then there's maybe a green stomach above it? Or some sort of coral growing on a row of teeth stretching back impossibly far in the suggestion of a horse's skull growing out of the armpit of an eye on a stalk? There are actually a ton of eyes in this thing --one of them has shapes sticking out of it and is yellow, but the color is deliberately offset to draw your eye upwards to a cute cartoon dog, and wait is that another eyeball of it that might be part of a cloud or bunch of grapes, some organic shape, and wait are those intestines above it? Work in Progress 1A

Different black ink drawing on the same 8 in x10 giclée print of a colorful mixed media piece. While there are some real images in here there's also a whole lot of visual noise to make you see all sorts of stuff that isn't really there. This image has a few more representational drawings, there is a bird, a fish, a salt shaker with two holes that turns into a banana pointing at a pizza, two upside down flamingos but their heads aren't visible in this image, there's a tree with three holes in it, two eggs being fried, spirals, teeth. I haven't shared this here yet. This commission from a couple of years ago was for an "into the blue' theme on the guitar. The unfinished wood might be painted robin egg blue when it's done, but my part is over. I'd love to do this or something similar again #abstractart #painting #guitar #custom

The body of a guitar pictured from above, the wood is partially unfinished. There are six distinct stripes of abstract patterns with a blue palette, near where the neck would be attached is a pattern of teal circles and mauve triangles,

a dark blue line separates the adjacent pattern, which has an almost seafoam colored base with dark blue squares outlined in yellow forming an almost checker board pattern, next is a stripe of unfinished wood where the fret board would be attached

Next are two patterns both containing triangles and separated by a dark blue stripe. The triangles of the first one face alternate directions and have alternating blue and yellow outlines on a bright blue background with dark blue tentacle-like shapes flowing between them.

The second pattern is repeated at the bottom of the guitar as well and consists of bright blue triangles with dark blue outlines and a lighter blue circle inside of them all on a purple background. The triangles all point in the same direction on each stripe, but the direction is switched.

In between those triangles is a distinct pattern with stripes of unfinished wood on each side, one narrow, one broad. This pattern consists of blue blobs.

This piece that I did with the artist Vegetable Dad a number of years ago deserves its own post. One of my favorite collabs that I've been a part of, and I'd love to work with any artist who wants to collaborate on something similar or completely different #abstractart #collaboration #painting #art

A confluence of colors, shapes, and patterns with organic details, surreal creatures, a melting skull, and a torso kind of floating on a split pea shape near the top. Mixed Media collaboration between Vegetable Dad and Inside Outrance

I would never accuse the Iraqi Army of being well trained or using a lot of restraint. And yet in Mosul I came to expect more discretion from the average Iraqi soldier than U.S. cops who have never taken incoming fire.

Finished most of this while attending my very first sci-fi/fantasy convention over the last few days. Excellent panels, including one with Cory Doctorow and two library directors on the future of libraries, made some new friends, and had an amazing time hanging out with cool people.
