I am using the “Register Image” feature in Samurai Warriors 4 DX on Steam. The feature works correctly with JPG and BMP files, but it does not accept PNG files. This creates a usability problem because most modern artwork, icons, and character portraits are distributed in PNG format, especially when transparency is needed.

I have a large number of PNG images that I would like to use for crests, kanji symbols, and portraits. Converting each PNG manually to JPG/BMP is time‑consuming and significantly reduces the usability of the feature. PNG is the standard format for high‑quality images and transparent backgrounds, and the current limitation makes it difficult to use the image registration system as intended.

I would like to ask whether PNG support can be added to the PC version of Samurai Warriors 4 DX, or if there are technical reasons preventing PNG import. Even partial PNG support (non‑transparent PNGs) would greatly improve the feature’s usability.
