Here are a few examples:

Yeah there's a ton to read, almost all optional. The rom-com I wrote about is EXTRA optional (it's in the enemy logs and you unlock those when you defeat a new enemy type, so you don't pick them up like other docs)

It affects some interactions. People run a 0 attack IV on special attackers to minimize damage from Foul Play and confusion damage; some players might make a Pokémon slower than its normal usage on purpose to outspeed under Trick Room. Cool but usually math-forward strats
