If you’re looking for a Danish-made gothic, psychological film loosely based on the true story of convicted baby farmer Dagmar Overbye, “The Girl With the Needle” (2024) is at the top of the list. It takes a lot to get to me, but this film penetrated my innate defenses as if they were crêpe paper.
