📚As I power through my first systematic review this semester, I wonder why the method has not deepened its criticality in this open science era? Given how easy it is to share data and code, why not simply exclude closed studies to avoid wasting time? Authors I've contacted for data don't respond.

And I'd add that being driven by psychology, sociology, research methods, psychometrics, etc. would save us from the "research waste" of AI studies.

Is anyone working on FAIR-type standards for sharing LLM prompts? It's be nice to collect them in one place, solidify the metadata, and recommend them to users just-in-time for particular use cases. Of course, recent models seem to be less affected by the prompts themselves than by other factors.

What if I told you scientists developed a urinal design that cuts down on nearly all splash back. And their names are "Randy" and "Pan". And they work at the University of Waterloo. And they published their findings in the journal PNAS Nexus. You'd never believe me, right?

Open scientists working on equity, fairness, and crediting, what is being done about stolen ideas from ECRs? Sadly not much has changed since I was an undergrad. It seems that stolen credit still manifests across fields and roles.

When metascientists decide which studies to reproduce or replicate, why aren't they targeting studies that are being cited in patents, company reports, policy, etc? Valuable resources are wasted on assessing the reliability of inconsequential reports. #metascience #replication
