This house is a mess. And it is a mess Because we have too much stuff. Why do I have such trouble Letting things go? Emotional attachment To things that will never Reciprocate. Affection For a potential That will never be. #Autistic
A charcoal drawing of a person sitting in a cage with a teddy bear peeking around, almost checking on them.

Coffee. Will quitting it help my anxiety? or send me into such deep executive dysfunction that I won't be able to do anything? It's a toss up at this point. #ADHD #DarkArt
A very dark cup of coffee with steam. It might be a skull coming out of the steam? There is teeth, I think. Charcoal on textured watercolor paper because it was the first thing I grabbed.

The book is called "Reinventing Your Life" (researching Schematic Therapy) but I suppose Shoki has decided he doesn't need it.

This is a petticoat daffodil. They grow in the green dividers in the town roads here. #BloomSky #Nature
A white doffodill with a graceful flower resembling more of a white petticoat rather than the typical loud trumpet. It has 5 little starlike petals surrounding it. Crocus size so smaller as well.

Today's book to read at the library to the kids was My Hair is as Long as a River. It is about a boy who grows his hair long because it helps him feel safe and happy. The message is that it is HIS hair. And do with it as he likes because he takes care of it. 🖤 #KidLit
A book with a boy on the cover with very long hair. The hair turns into a blue river with children playing in it and reeds and seagrass growing in the curves.
Text is white " My hair is as Long as a River". By Charlie Castle and Emma Farrarons.

Blauwe Gerrit is a trickster plague spirit in the forest near Voorst, Gelderland in the Netherlands. Once he saved a girl from being abducted by a knight. Another time he sat on the shoulders of a farmer so his journey home took all night. He does what he pleases. #PhantomsFriday
A watercolor of Blauwe Gerrit by Marthe Jonkers an illustrator. He's sitting on the shoulders of someone not too comfortable not happy to have him there.

A purple crocus in the foreground, full opened so you can see the orange stamen. Next to it is a cir ular spiderweb of dewdrops. Moss and false strawberry leaves on the floor below

Like a good little autist I need to post a train station photo lol This train station was demolished in '95 because it was SO small but I love that they kept pieces of the old one on glass pillars. A small nod to history on each platform 🖤
Two Art Deco pieces of carved stone column mounted on glass. The train schedule in the back. Two small pieces of carved stone columns mounted on a glass platform. One is the typical Art Deco but simple. The other is carved in the shape of a chicken. You can see the glass elevator between them and the rest of a mostly empty platform of metal and tile around it.

The Aldrovanda vesiculosa, the Water Wheel carnivorous plant. It's rare here in the Netherlands but resides in a small, very old lake near my house. It's very quick in motion.
A dark charcoal drawing of a Aldrovanda vesiculosa. The flower peaks above the water. The trapping leaves reside below in little wheels like spokes, hidden and liminal dark faces surround the plant.

A narcissus just punched through this foxglove leaf like paper. It's very proud of itself. Foxglove didn't even bat an eye though and goes on ignoring it. Simply existing in it's power.

@dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social I'm only on page 41 but this book, Help the Witch, is so sweet and lovely. I absolutely love how I can dip in and out of it. The pacing is perfect. And it truly holds you in this dance of daily life and Other life. I'm so hooked 🖤

Mlep #CatSky
My cat Shoki, forgetting, yet again, that his tongue is stuck out.

He's sitting in the floor, waiting for me to come downstairs so he can eat. I already fed him, his food is in his bowl. But he apparently needs me to be there to eat lol

A rather tall guy I sketched while I saw him peaking around the corner. He was curious to see what I was doing (sweeping). #ForteanFriday
An almost deer shaped head, long and thin. Slits for nowtrals. But fleshy knobs on top of his head. Very large black eyes. He's anthropomorphic with his long-fingered hands reaching around a wall

#WyrdWednesday There is an urban legend up in Groningen about a motorcyclist who rode under a low handing branch and continued to his destination without his head. Image: The Headless Rider, circa 1898. Illustration by Lyonel Feininger.
A black and white graphite illustration depicting the ghostly pursuit of frightened man pedaling furiously on a bicycle, his eyes wide with terror, as a spectral, headless figure rides behind him with headlights beaming out of a mounted skull.

I fully believe that the scene in "The Addam's Family" where Morticia is cutting off the rose heads is a nod to the opening scene of Theda Bara in "A Fool There Was". 1915. One of the first screen fem fatale "vamps" and mystery icons. #SilentFilm #ThedaBara #HorrorSky

Will-o-the-wisp and snake, Herman Hendrich, 1823 #Folklore #Spirits
This painting presents a nocturnal scene featuring two vaguely human-shaped forms positioned in the foreground, the wil-o-whisps, flitting near the ruins of an arched structure, creating a mystical atmosphere.

A limited color palette focused on cool accents to the more prominent warm tones and soft lighting effects. Loose and impressionistic, with blended brushstrokes and hazy details.

A feeling of quiet, mystery, and a touch of melancholy.
