The latest AI trend on Twitter is apparently "remixing" games. Prompting AI to make "Pokémon meets Minecraft" or "League of Legends meets DBZ" (real examples I saw). I remember when @farbs.org did this 2008 www.farbs.org/romcheckfail...

news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/0... Rare becoming a COD support studio is, well something
Activision will expand its remit to World’s Edge, as well as Rare. Activision will also be developing the next Halo title, led by a new, purpose-built team that is separate from ongoing development and plans for Call of Duty. A small team at Halo Studios will continue supporting the Halo community and games in-market.

The Steam disclosure rules are for AI content, not code, so this is within the current Steam rules (partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettings...). As a result, some developers disclose AI code usage, but most don't. If you think this is important contacting Steam and letting them know could help.
3) Generative Artificial Intelligence Content

We are aware that many modern game development environments have AI powered tools built into them. Efficiency gains through the use of these tools is not the focus of this section. Instead, it is concerned with the use of AI in creating content that ships with your game, and is consumed by players. This includes content such as artwork, sound, narrative, localization, etc.

If your game used AI services during development or incorporates AI services as a part of the product, this section will require you to describe that implementation in detail:

Pre-Generated: Any kind of content that ships with your game and is consumed by players that is created with the help of AI tools during development. Under the Steam Distribution Agreement, you promise Valve that your game will not include illegal or infringing content, and that your game will be consistent with your marketing materials. In our prerelease review, we will evaluate the output of AI generated content in your game the same way we evaluate all non-AI content - including a check that your game meets those promises.
Live-Generated: Any kind of content created with the help of AI tools while the game is running. In addition to following the same rules as Pre-Generated AI content, this comes with an additional requirement - in the Content Survey, you'll need to tell us what kind of guardrails you're putting on your AI to ensure it's not generating illegal content.

As an aside, AI in games is rapidly evolving and we want to get it right. Many artists and creators are rightfully concerned about exploitation and misuse. But we also realize that technology and tools are going to change a bunch over the years, and there are lots of creative game developers out there figuring out ways to ethically use AI to make great entertainment. If you plan to release a product on Steam and you think we're overlooking something important in regard to AI, we'd love to hear from you.

The crazy thing is, at first I thought this was hyperbole because I typed in a slightly different prompt, "how many days of the week have fish in them" vs. "how many days of the week have *a* fish in them". The first prompt gave accurate results, the additional "a" completely derails everything.

Early versions of D&D and AD&D have monster reaction rules that include negotiation as a possible reaction. Maybe this DM just didn't know these rules, or if they were playing some version that didn't include them or a Japanese localized version omitted them?

From the article
However, we’ve got news for you - which probably isn’t news. ‘Changing the revenue tiers for the small guy, for PR reasons’ is the last thing Steam will ever do, because they’re famously not like that. (And to be fair, Steam revenue is much less top-heavy than mobile.) They need a logical, self-contained reason to do it.

What I will say is that, if our numbers are right, it’s ‘only’ $130 million per year - just 2.4% of Valve’s 2025 non-hardware Steam-centric revenue - to go to a 25% royalty as a maximum and eliminate the 30% tier entirely. And isn’t that worth it, just to stop me writing editorials about it constantly? Toodles…

According to Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Pr...)
Around 2016, Ros started to toy with developing a prototype, intending to only spend about six months on it, but as his ideas came together, opted to quit his commercial development job to focus on the game, spending eight years to develop it further, using his private savings as well as ad revenue for a Magic: The Gathering website that he had been running.

This UseNet response to the plan file is also really good. groups.google.com/g/comp.graph... In 2026 when one of those vendors is propping up the economy and is worth 1.5x Microsoft in market cap and can basically dictate what goes in DirectX this quote is really fun
It's going to get very weird out there for 3D hardware. The problem of
making 3D fast is unsolved. I think we can all agree that it will be a
while before we see real-time Toy Story graphics rendered on our desktops.
There are dozens of hardware companies out there trying all kinds of exotic
technologies and formulations to find a way to squeeze a few more megpixels
out of a 50 dollar piece of silicon. Microsoft certainly doesn't want to
stand in the way of their progress, yet at the same time we don't want the
PC platform to get so fragmented with divergent 3D hardware designs that
nothing works properly.
