I had never heard of "pet rent" before moving to Columbus. In every other place I'd lived the standard was a one time, nonrefundable pet deposit. I currently pay $360 every year for just one cat, more than any single pet deposit I'd ever paid, and adding up to thousands in total so far.

Because the woman below survived, the Federal government was obligated to charge her with the crime she was allegedly committing when shot, meaning they had to investigate it. That investigation showed she was innocent. Since Ms Good did not survive, they don't need to investigate what she did.
