The other part of my and @imamagnet.bsky.social 's adventure on Saturday: Video game stores! We stopped for a second time at Just Press Play Mega Store in Lancaster (thanks for the rec, @dendycrew.com) and for the first time at Game Traders Club! in Lebanon! Both in PA. First, Just Press Play: 1/9

An outside wall of Just Press Play Mega Store in Lancaster, PA. The windows are covered with art of the game characters Link, Mario, Minecraft Steve, Kirby, Sonic, Isabelle, Pac-Man, and Mega Man, all in fighting poses.

More window art outside of Just Press Play Mega Store. There's a Porygon, four LEGO heads wearing helmets, and a Gengar. Also, a sign that says "Batmobile Parking Only."

One small section of video games, in a huge store full of video games. These shelves include (from left to right) Playstation 2 games, Playstation controllers and memory cards, and Playstation 1 games.

A slightly fish-eye photo of the bottom floor of the store, shot from the second floor. "Just Press Play" is painted on the left side. You can see a store full of games, merch, and memorabilia.

A Happy 40th birthday OutRun #ScanlineSunday from me this week, as Sega waved a flag in the arcades for a game and series that's lasting the (Sega) ages. 💜

There’s gotta be an untapped market for open access recreations of the old Nickelodeon sport game shows. Gotta be some 30 and 40 somethings that wanna tackle the Aggro Crag or Olmec’s temple.

CRT pickup #2: a Curtis Mathes 20" TV, playing Super Bomberman on the Super Famicom :) Also, when Magnet and I went to pick up a shelving unit, the seller threw in these cassettes! She said that most of them were from her 80s college days. 🎶

“It’s got tons of arcade ports. It’s the best console for people who love arcades.”

Tested a new 13" CRT I got today by playing Beautiful Katamari on Xbox 360 with it! I'd say it looks pretty nice :) Hello, RCA!! (I am collecting CRTs for Reasons that are exciting and will be shared later. If you see any cheap/free ones near Philly, give me a heads up!)

The 13" RCA TV has a silver front, and a greenish grey back. It also has an interesting wavy design I've never seen before. The screen is blue and showing the scanlines

Did some more retro game-hunting with @imamagnet.bsky.social today in our favorite place, New Jersey 🥳 Happy with the ones I got today!! Haul is from two different game stores. Third photo shows Wonder Project J2 next to the first, which I picked up just a few weeks ago :) Last pic is a store shelf

Yoshi's Island and Kirby Superstar for Super Famicom, and Wonder Project J2 for N64 (all Japan region, with the latter being a JP-only release)

Wonder Project J2 is complete-in-box! The game manual shows beautiful, Ghibli-like illustrated art of a robot girl with a flowy dress and a bird, balancing on top of a building. The cartridge and back of the box are also showing.

Wonder Project J for the Super Famicom, next to Wonder Project J2 for the N64. JP region only games.

One of the JP import game shelves at one of our favorite New Jersey game stores.
