Rep. Jahana Hayes was the 2016 National Teacher of the Year and an incredible mentor to me early on in my teacher leader journey as 2018 Illinois Teacher of the Year. Now a member of Congress, she and her colleagues were locked out of the Dep. of Ed, which is unfathomable. Give this a watch!
