Looking forward to speaking at this, and excited for the rest of the talks - have had some sneak peaks and you are in for a real treat! Expect fun, shenanigans and a friendly community vibe. If you're in the UK and work with #Umbraco, you need to be here - LAST CHANCE!

Preparing for my talk at @umbraco.foundation (16 Oct) on using language models to find security issues in #Umbraco and #dotnet applications. Today I'll be intentionally building a super-insecure Umbraco application 🛠️🫣 2026.umbracofoundation.co.uk

I've been working on a little Entity/Component/System (ECS) game engine in C#/Monogame recently. I've blogged about the choices I've made, and how those choices have created issues for me further down the implementation process... www.liamlaverty.com/blogs/buildi... #gamedev #monogame #ecs

www.etive-mor.com/blog/carlini... Carlini did a great talk at [un]prompted recently, detailing how Anthropic were using LLMs to automate software vulnerability discovery. I take a look at replicating his process in the Umbraco-CMS repository, for less than 1% the cost. #umbraco #security #llm #ai

Can a #LanguageModel paint? I've built an app which gets language models to paint a piece iteratively (one stroke at a time) rather than producing it in one-shot from a prompt. Not sure if this counts as #GenerativeArt www.etive-mor.com/blog/can-a-l... www.liamlaverty.com/paint-by-lan...

If you search for famous artists on #duckduckgo , they change their logo to match the result. On each result, the DDG logo is themed after the artist. Monet duck wears a flatcap, Van Gogh duck has a ginger beard, Dali duck has a thin moustache, and Kahlo duck is dressed in bright floral colours
Four screenshots of the Duck Duck Go search result bar containing "Claude Monet", "Vincent Van Gogh", "Salvador Dali", and "Frida Kahlo". On each search result, the Duck Duck Go logo is themed after the artist. The Monet duck is wearing a flatcap hat, the Van Gogh duck has a ginger beard, the Dali duck has a thin moustache, and the Kahlo duck is dressed in bright floral colours

This is really fascinating Wikipedia's list of linguistic and stylist "tells" of AI writing, the better to help editors recognize it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...
A Wikipedia-style guideline page on avoiding exaggerated wording by LLMs, with two sections titled Undue emphasis on symbolism and importance and Promotional language. Each section lists “words to watch” in a beige box, such as "stands as a testament", "plays a vital role", "rich cultural heritage", "breathtaking", and "must-see". Below, example sentences are shown with problematic phrases highlighted in yellow, including "enhancing its significance", "captivates both residents and visitors alike", "stands as a symbol", "reflects the evolving identity", "vibrant town with a rich cultural heritage", "fascinating glimpse into the diverse tapestry", and "value-driven experiences".

In 2022/23 I did some research on #AI price setting algorithms. It's published here: www.etive-mor.com/blog/ai-coop... Throughout the research, models consistently colluded to undermine consumers. I'm hoping to recreate the research with LLMs as the economic agents in the near future.

I understand why people are concerned about space rock 2024-YR4, which by taking the cumulative impact probability of 0.28% and multiplying it by a velocity of 13,260 m/s has an expected damage of 37 m/s. But even more concerning to me is 2016 WN55’s expected damage of NaN!

@tailwindcss.com sent a newsletter out yesterday describing their journey to add dark-mode to their premium themes. They estimated it'd take them 6 weeks to implement dark mode on their premium themes. They instead used #AI & #LLMs to speed up the process, taking them only... 12 weeks

When you look through Claude's output during coding sessions, you realise that an absolutely unreal amount of energy & GPU cycles are being dedicated to it grepping around the codebase.
