Spending the first half of my day off looking through every Mega Man game so I can eventually play them all with my wife and god there are so many more than I realized why the fuck is there not only several versions of every Battle Network game but also a 4.5 with a real life GBA peripheral???

The Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation "Battle Chip Gate" peripheral for the Gameboy Advance that does something I don't fucking know but it's apparently basically required to play that game

After nearly 80 hours of grinding I just remembered that this game added jumping strong-attacks, and they're really good too! For some characters it's their best crowd-clearing attack and I completely forget to even test it with like 10 characters lol. I've been playing too much by DW3 muscle memory

I've mentioned earlier that DW4's higher difficulties aren't actually much more difficult compared to easy or normal, case in point: I'VE BEEN GRINDING ON HARD, OFTEN WITH FRESH UNLEVELED CHARACTERS FOR THE LAST 20+ HOURS WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING IT??? I thought I was set to normal this entire time...

Dual Override looks soooo fucking good, they happened to show the exact correct things in the new trailer to get ME specifically like 10x more excited than I already was! It looks like it plays more like an X title than classic with all of the extra movement abilities, but with classic level design.

First Dynasty Warriors 4 grinding session in New Location and I am soooo tired of Lu Bu's Revolt, like I know it's not necessarily the #1 best grinding stage in DW4 (there is no single agreed upon "best" stage) but it's one of the shortest and I've memorized the item locations so I'm sticking to it!

It's this guy. It's his revolt. He's revolting. Look everyone it's Lu Bu from his iconic revolt. Lu Bu. Yep that's him. Stunning.

I've been thinking about adding an extra section to each of the pages on my site on whether something "is/is not a musou". Part of why I started this project was to narrow down what exactly a musou is because this is like the most undefined subgenre of all time, NOBODY can agree on what qualifies!

Lu Bu's Revolt? More like Lu Bu is revolting! Get it? See the joke is that THIS STAGE IS FUCKING BOOOORRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG!!!!! It's the main DW4 stage I've been using for grinding weapon levels and it feels so much slower than grinding points in DW3, a single run of this takes ~10 minutes ;-;

Almost all of my notes for Dynasty Warriors 4 so far have been "X improvement/change in reference to Dynasty Warriors 3", because DW4 is basically just DW3 2, DW4XL definitely adds more original material, but as of now the eventual website page is going to be nonstop cross-references to the DW3 page

One of the biggest improvements I've noticed between Dynasty Warriors 4 and 3 is that in 4 enemies seem smarter, even at lower difficulties, but also much more predictable and manipulable. It makes combat in general a lot more engaging, reading your opponent is necessary even for peons in DW4.

Finally finished scanning one of the worst books I've ever decided to archive, I'd been dreading this one for months and it was just as bad as I expected ;-; Falling apart at the spine, super dirty, several hundred pages, and it's the best guidebook for DW4, so I couldn't even put it off any longer!

My main non-musou game I've been playing for the last month has been Twilight Princess and it's really made me realize that I just... don't like 3D Zelda gameplay. I always knew I hated OOT but I guess it's just not the series for me in general 😔

After scanning like 15 strategy guidebooks between Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4 I've noticed that they all have like, "filler" segments. They all have some unique information so they're not a complete waste of time, but at least 40% or more of some of them just feels entirely unnecessary.

I feel like grinding is so much more boring in DW4 compared to DW3 (even though I think it's actually a bit faster) and it's entirely because they removed the stat item combo rewards! The only thing you get from high combos in DW4 is a tiny bit of extra weapon experience which is so not worth it.

Ngl I was kinda a hater of mounted combat in Dynasty Warriors 3, but it's soooo improved in DW4, I actually enjoy it with certain characters! Foundationally it's no different, and for most characters I still think it sucks, but they gave unique mounted movesets to a lot of characters this time.

Now that I've tried all of the new Dynasty Warriors 4 characters (Zhou Tai, Cao Ren, and Yue Ying), they're good :) I do prefer a lot of the characters DW3 introduced (there were also way more of them, but obviously I can't expect every game to add 10+ new characters) but Zhou Tai is neat enough
