ikjoyce @ikjoyce.bsky.social · 11/09/2026That was hard work. 6x 800m at faster than race pace. Aiming at 4:40 mins/km. Ran the first rest, but had to walk the others. Last three intervals were into the wind. Coros docked some points and added a second back on my threshold time... but also increased my VO2max! 111

ikjoyce @ikjoyce.bsky.social · 27/08/2026St Asaph City Striders "Pace the Train" tonight: 5km (3 and a bit laps) of Marine lake, while a steam train did 3 laps. 3 groups: steadies started with the train, then 3 minutes later the mid group went, then another 3 minutes later the fast group went, all set off running by the mayor of St Asaph. 110
ikjoyce @ikjoyce.bsky.social · 25/08/20262.4km St Asaph City Striders handicap race this evening! Huge fun, steep uphill for 1 km, then round and zigzag back down to finish. All about the uphill pacing to leave room for the downhill sprint. I came 22nd out of about 50 of us. For the next one, our start times will be adjusted accordingly! 110

New training cycle started this morning with 3x 1km repeats. Made sure to jog the rests, no walking! Nailed my target paces, so happy with that. 010

Since then I've run 1062 miles / 1712 km, joined St Asaph City Striders, started volunteering at Nova Prestatyn parkrun, & knocked 3 mins off my 5km time, 5 mins off my 10km time, & 20 mins off my half marathon time. A very productive year! 120
