We do have one special election so far this year that isn't falling on March 3 (votes not relating to sales taxes and bonds are not required to be on the first Tuesday in March). Salina had a citizen-submitted petition to lift a ban on pit bulls, and the city commission decided to put it to a vote.

It's (special) election time! Last year, we passed a bill to have a single special election day each year instead of allowing them throughout the first half of the year. This year's falls on March 3, which means that mail ballots were sent yesterday, and some counties have begun early voting! #ksleg
