True! Plus with how spaced out the booths are and the amount of people walking around

Quils @ VGEN @ignitedquils.bsky.social · 3h

And it’s sad telling/showing this to some people but they don’t care, they won’t bother. So I no longer rely on them I try not to tie my worth towards how others treat me but these indications show how I deserve good things & people around me Not easy finding the right people but they’re out there

I often met those who were either short tempered, judgmental, not encouraging of me/my skills, weren’t reciprocal or didn’t listen. Plus was bullied growing up for being different So being around those who are open and friendly, especially with my interests felt healing. I wanted more of that

After being out with people yesterday & meeting people at NYCC, it reinforced what I wanted; other than being around people who are caring, I wanted people who were encouraging & not judgmental I OFC have a few like that but they’re not always around. I met more uncaring people than caring people

Didn’t buy much from NYCC due to there being a LOT of artists with amazing work and I have a lot of prints at home, but these are the ones I bought as I wanted to go to them the most! From @chuwenjie.bsky.social, Mynth by Lynn and @kaitexel.bsky.social!

Image of the prints/pins/keychains I bought from NYCC! The top two (the Spiderverse and Animal Crossing print) are from Chuwenjie, the two pins (Watermelon Steven and King) alongside a fish sticker and print at the left are from Mynth by Lynn, and the bottom right print is Melinoe from Hades II by Kai Texel.

Back from NYCC! Got to see a lot of cosplays, talked to some artists and for my first time, while I am tired, I would do it again! I didn’t go to cons as a kid and teenager so going to them now in my late 20s feels good and healing due to the stuff I loved growing up being celebrated

one of the biggest piece of advice i would pass on to young/new creatives is that not every opportunity that hits your inbox is necessarily one you should take - not every "collab" or partnership or job makes sense for you if it doesnt align w/ your personal ethos or community!!

I wish people would love themselves a little more. There’s only one of you, with all your quirks and edges and lovable parts. We’re all complicated and messy and imperfect, but that doesn’t make us unworthy of love, happiness, or life.

Self love is hard indeed. Despite struggling with your flaws (disabilities for example), people rejecting you/not giving basic courtesy, but our longest relationships are ourselves The world is cruel but we are unique and while we’ll be loved for that by others, we have to nurture ourselves too

Been thinking about my life stuff, and there's a theme with this. I'm grateful that I have the self-worth to step away from situations when continuing to engage isn't going to make things better. Keep being yourself and keep creating!

Drawing of Sake the Cat drawing on her Wacom tablet monitor with a pen, other paw on the keyboard. At her computer seat and desk. Text split in half both above and below: "I don't owe anyone continued communication after they've disrespected, mischaracterized, minimized, and silenced me. I know what happened, and I have no interest in narratives I don't believe in."

DTIYS entry I did from mil_drawings on Instagram! #art #illustration #dtiys #drawthisinyourstyle

My version of the portrait which featured a brown haired girl with a pinkish hat, long brown hair and a red shirt smiling as she holds a cat. The background is of an orange color with some leaves in the distance.

The original drawn by mil_drawings. The same woman holding the cat, but it is zoomed out with the background being the same color bordered by a circle.

Defund and abolish ICE. Melt down their weapons and shift its budget to social services and affordable housing. Ban everyone who led or worked for ICE from any government job. Corporate death penalty for the companies that aided them. Citizenship to all of its victims, should they want it.

I think when I was 13, what I did on YouTube was the side of me I desperately needed people to see. The creative, passionate nerdy me that my family either ignored or told me I shouldn't be whenever they noticed. I wanted to be seen for who I am and accepted. And I found that in my audience.

Quils @ VGEN @ignitedquils.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

I feel that way. When I was also 13 on the internet, I felt very happy seeing those into Pokémon, anime and cartoons which weren’t as embraced in the early 2010s I’m happy with how they’re more accepted now, despite some toxic experiences in series from those

A fluffy black cat with enormous round eyes and two tiny fangs holds a pink flower against a turquoise background. White handwritten text on black strips reads: “Rumour has it, this black cat brings good luck. It may also knock something off your table or give you a gentle bite. But mostly, it’s here to bring you good luck.”
