Fun fact: My disabled mother did this after she divorced my dad. Gave me and my sister our own rooms and slept on the couch for 10 years until I made enough to get her her own room. She also passed on medication certain months to feed us. I owe her everything.

I think a key driver to this is the economy. Beyond the Hellaverse (you see what I did there), consumer optimism is the LOWEST it’s ever been since 2014. When merch doesn’t meet expectation or omits certain characters, no one wins because no one wants to feel they’ve wasted money right now.

I think the big picture is the youth have a pretty grim picture of how to live their lives as older adults. Conformity, acting and being small, conservative, and fearful of anything different. Idea idea of a dad aged person wearing what they want is crazy because they won’t do it themselves.
