A friend pointed out that Brass & Brine is the name of a furniture company IRL. While the game is free and I'm extremely unlikely to get sued, a new name for my game is still in order. I still want the name to evoke the ideas that you're a magic lizard shooting fish, though. Ideas are welcome!

I figured it'd be fun to change the blood squibs in Brass & Brine to scale off of damage dealt. This footage was captured during a test of that system with +900 Firepower. It will take a LONG time to get here legitimately. Look forward to this kind of nonsense in the next update. #indiedev #godot

At work today, I briefly showed a colleague Brass & Brine. A few hours later, during a lull, I saw they had reopened the game and were playing it just because they wanted to. It's the best feeling in the world knowing people choose to spend their time with something you made. 💚

Igdras poses somewhat flamboyantly, or perhaps heroically, depending on your perspective. His body is shaped less conventionally human while still being anthro: his torso is long and thin, his hands are notably larger, and his tail physically rests on the ground to create more surface area and stability. This image was made with pencil and watercolor brushes that I've never used in my program before, creating a more storybook-esque style.

A castle rises out of a sea of magma. Strange red crystals grow around it, and it appears to only be accessible via a blue portal near base of the island. The moon looms large behind the castle.

Caer Mulgori was built on an island formed by a wellspring of water formed at the bottom of an ocean of a sea of lava -- the opposite of how islands form on Earth. It thus is the only source of water in the entire world, in this fiction. The world serves as a "base of operations" for my characters, who come and go through the blue portal at the bottom.

Igdras points at some targets offscreen after handing the D&D party's bard, Cal, a shotgun. Surely Igdras is a qualified gun safety instructor (read: he is not. Finger off the trigger, Cal!)

I've said it before and I'll say it again; some people should half-ass their art more often! If it's not a commission and you're just drawing for fun, actually have fun with it! If your standards mean that you're too anxious to draw, lower them! Low-effort scribble is better than no art at all.

Farsil, an anthro lizard, depicted in fullbody and two expressions. The first one shows him laughing, and the second one shows him glaring off to the left. An older lineup of weapons I'd designed for a story that didn't pan out. There are three provinces (denoted by outline color) that have their own style and materials. More details in the alt text. #digitalart #weapons #fantasy

A lineup of 12 weapons -- three large swords, three halberds, three heavy blunt weapons, and three large spears. Each weapon type is represented in the style of the three predominant cultures of Igdrasias -- Dras Ishwari's weapons, outlined in gold, are ornate yet functional; Dras Jhoriani's weapons are sleek and elegant; and Dras Mulgori's weapons are intense and fiery.
These were all weapons I pictured in a story I was going to write, but quickly lost motivation to keep writing it.
