Just some samples while I'm working out lettering. I'm struggling a bit with the whole using Affinity to do letters as I'm much more used to hand-drawing my effects and letters - so enjoy some stuff that's been hand-lettered in the meantime. Pebs is a bit mad at Wedge. #loopholelogs #comics

Pebbleshot - known better as "Pebs", an anthropomorphic wild painted dog with a hearing clip in one ear and goggles over her face, yelling, crunching something in her hand with a CRUNCH sound effect and screaming "SORRY DIDN'T PAY MY BILLS, WEDGE".

Got some grubbies, going to have to set up an incubator to see if we can get them to pupate in there. These guys are just an absolute highlight for me and I want to see more captive bred going on. #BDFB

One of my favorites to keep, the largest of what I currently keep is my girl Dino, a popa spurca/“african twig mantis”. Popa are just wonderful darlings, utter freaks as nymphs, good eaters, and hilariously nosey individuals.

Got a present from my girl!

My stagmomantis limbata female "Denver" , who is a very green mantis, and her ooth. Her ooth is very fresh and still quite a bright shade of yellow-brown, she has laid it on her mesh. She's got a bit of eye rub from looking for a spot and she's still looking at my camera with a little bit of annoyance for bothering her.

Some of my mantis friends while I get names together for the green beans. Kadath, Ulthar, St John’s Park, and Dinosaur State Park. I’ve also got some beetles.

Kadath - a female subadult psuedocreobotra whalbergi - doing a dance pose as they are prone to do

Ulthar - a female subadult psuedocreobotra whalbergi - spreading her arms out wide in a big threat display despite being able to stand on my fingertip.
I gave a beetle in the enclosure on the shelf below hers a carrot.

J.P. - a Popa Spurca - holding a water droplet like an ear of corn while standing on my finger.

Dino - a Popa Spurca female - completely zonked asleep on her stick with her face in her elbows and her raptorials still pointed upward.

I've been watching these dumbasses try to get themselves set up to molt for like three-four days now, so I turned their lights off early tonight and Dino immediately took the opportunity. Still a fascinating and worrying state to watch them go through. They're amazing at messing it up.

Warring with my sister over the family computer, and later when we each had a small computer (teens) - the second phone line for dial up. We also had a LAN connector for the computers. And you had to make due with the games you had because you were often ordering from a magazine. Like mail-in.

Working on trying to get Loophole Logs all ready to go, had a reread of my chapters scripts (and the overall outline), bothered @vysetron.pixeldie.com with "would it make more sense if it was like ordered like..." Anyways my first three chapters or so are good, but time to go rewrite a bunch.

1. I learned a huge amount of history and ways to find references and improve my process. From courses I took outside my major, I learned a lot about needing to reign in my ideas and try to focus them. I still tend to go overboard and have to essentially edit one way or another. (VCU Arts)

Went to school for art, ended up in an IT niche that I love - which is also prone to regular layoffs every 2-3 years affecting me. I'm used to it. I am getting some of the last of all my planning steps together to put one of my stories out there as a sort of self-stability though.
