Don't shoulder it all yourself. Find a niche, know it, track it - when it's big, you call all your friends in yours and different states and ask them to please call their reps too. Protecting our freedoms lacks the action-organization that taking them away already has against us all.

Kind of a further note for anyone coming across this - One thing I do to not get so overwhelmed by the news/politics/helplessness is I try to lean on different friends for different knowledge expertise. If that knowledge friend asks me to call a rep and gives me a quick why, I'll do it.

Cats can take so long to settle in in general. My boy was in the thrift shop (rescue operated) kennel for so long - it took him three months to stop panicking and another three to settle in. One day he just realized he was ok. He’s still super anxious about the front door and strangers tho.

One of my favorites to keep, the largest of what I currently keep is my girl Dino, a popa spurca/“african twig mantis”. Popa are just wonderful darlings, utter freaks as nymphs, good eaters, and hilariously nosey individuals.

He also specifically called one individual game (+ one non-AEG game) that has made AEG a lot of their success as to imply the designer is unnecessary and human creativity as basically "meh" in his L-in post - so it came off as rather targeted.

I also do most of my sketching on paper and my lines/colors in Procreate and then just...move things around. My process is super convoluted but it's what's working for me.

Overall I like it? but I stopped using Adobe when they went Creative Cloud, so that's where most of my comparison is. I used my perpetual license (bought in...2011?) until some updates killed it. Publisher - In Design Photo - Photoshop Designer - Illustrator

Then I pop it on a thumb drive onto my iPad - start drawing in my thumbnails on each page on the iPad so I can draw on it (my larger PC tablet/monitor is boxed right now while we're packing to move).

Comics wise, I'm working through my first chapter thumbnails right now, so I get all my pages up in Publisher, pop my text from Ellipsus over (on PC so I don't kill my hands), loosely arrange it by page.

I prefer the PC versions of it for ease on my eyes, but the iPad port is pretty good! They've recently gone free for the base of it (Affinity Publisher/Photo/Designer) - and on the iPad you can swap between the tools in a project without having to reload.

I go back and forth between Procreate and the Affinity programs on my iPad. Canva deciding to put the AI stuff as "optional, pay for it" put me more at ease for using Affinity's stuff (which I've used for years as my adobe alt).
