What a fantastic selection of drams. Benromach is not a distillery that I know well, but will definitely be exploring further. I’d be very happy to house all four in my drinks cabinet. Thank you Steve @thewhiskywire.bsky.social for the opportunity to taste these superb whiskies #BenromachWhisky

21yo - Wow! That is delicious. The orange is ramped up - vintage coarse cut marmalade with ginger, ever so subtle smoke, finish that lingers. That’s a beauty! #BenromachWhisky

061

21yo - The spice and orange notes are strong on the nose on this one. Smoke is very subtle in the background. Some creaminess and possibly a hint of tropical fruit/pineapple. #BenromachWhisky

15yo - that is delicious. Rather viscous which fills the mouth with flavour. Lots of buttery/toffee notes but with spice coming through at the end. #BenromachWhisky

051

15yo - well this is rather different. Spice is more subtle, more buttery like Bird’s toffee with the little hammer. Faint touch of smoke. #BenromachWhisky

051

This would make a fine old-fashioned I think! #BenromachWhisky

241

12yo - on the palate fruit loaf or toasted tea cake, maybe even hot cross bun, orange peel, black pepper #BenromachWhisky

12yo - much less fruit on the nose on this one but still some spice. Definitely not a Sherry bomb! Lightly citrus and faint whiff of smoke #BenromachWhisky

The cola notes came to me quite late but agree!

010

Always find 46% is the absolute sweet spot for me and this is no different. #BenromachWhisky

Cote Rotie - this starts as a fruity mouthful but quickly moves on to drying spice. Very tasty! Good long finish. #BenromachWhisky

I could quite happily sit and nose it for an hour or two! #BenromachWhisky

240

Cote Rotie - lots of red/forest fruits on the nose with ginger and black pepper spice, leather like an old armchair #BenromachWhisky

020

Cote Rotie - beautiful deep amber colour in the glass #BenromachWhisky

Very excited to be joining @thewhiskywire.bsky.social for the #BenromachWhisky tasting on Thursday. Dram selection looks fantastic 👌

Your one - well, it’s clearly not The Fall, as you were probably in The Fall at some point. So, I’m going to say The Jam.

Saw Scott at the opening night of Groove Village festival last year. Really good. Take the bread out of there it’s not a toaster…

Bristolian noise collective Knives have announced their debut album, ‘Glitter,’ scheduled for release on Marshall Records on 2 May 2025. This announcement coincides with the band’s new single, ‘The Dagger,’ a caustic and riotous anti-anthem that perfectly sets the scene for what’s to come.
