Yes, every team outside of the top 10 has less than 1% chance of making the playoffs. And do you know what I would love to see any of them do? Loan (or trade) some of their better players to playoff contenders for 2027 intra-league transfer funds before the October 8 roster freeze.

Thanks for asking, I should have explained this earlier. In essence, yes, it's xG density. But what's being visualized is density above and below league average across 90 distinct zones in the final third of the pitch, smoothed along the edges due to the inexact nature of event tracking.

This one is a great example of the shift from context-neutral xG to the final win probabilities. Player effect interactions alone give Bay FC the edge, but the adjustments for home-field advantage, travel and rest fatigue, finishing talent, and GK talent swing the odds back in Chicago's favor.
