IMO, the issue is not the monetary contribution, it's that an awful lot of people conflate fun activities that you do in your spare time as also being the same thing in terms of work, as in - not *real* work Games are enjoyable activities you do on the evenings and weekends with your mates

Always remember when I’d tell people I worked in video games they’d be oh so you get to play games all day? That must be great!!

Yeah I ditched Disney a while back. Before the Marvel thing, one of their previous shoddy ai-related manoeuvres. And I say that as someone who’s done vis dev for them.

They have a massive archive of vis dev artists’ work they can use to train their ai. So they don’t actually need to pay human artists anymore. Just add a particular name to a prompt and there you go, ‘new’ designs in that artist’s style. A finite resource obviously but they don’t care

This gets said constantly, but it worth reiterating: Games Workshop being bigger than fishing is important to shout about because you wouldn't know it from government talking points, which are rarely about anything creative or artistic. Growth won't involve fish or steel, it will involve goblins.

Quick search points to Peter Rudland as the illustrator. Some more of his lovely work here. Lithographs I think?

I did a line of kits with my friend Michael Fichtenmayer a while back. Unfortunately they were pirated remorselessly so it became unsustainable in the end.
