Oldest known fossil evidence of lepidopterans (butterflies & moths), from the Triassic (~236 mya) of Argentina! Scales from the wings of these insects were preserved in dicynodont coprolites, & were likely on plants eaten by the dicynodonts. www.science.org/content/arti... #PoopScience 🧪💩🪨🦋

I'm finding bluesky rather dull. And what's with the enormous number of busty babes trying to be my friend? I'm a 74-year-old gay man and their tits are the very last thing I want to be besieged by.

On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, everything that led to the Holocaust is in danger of being forgotten. The Nazis channeled the demands of oligarchs, scapegoated minorities and replaced democracy with a new imperium. Those politics are returning. #NeverForget #NeverAgain

Morning everyone, I took a couple of months off over Christmas as I have not been particularly well and have been waiting on seeing the results of my next scan, which if not good would be not good at all. Having given it a lot of thought, I’ve decided that even if the result is good, eventually, one

An entertaining thought, from the podcast ‘The Rest is Politics’: in two years Trump will be of no futther use to the Republican Party. They’ll be busy looking for his replacement. What will become of him then?

Tanya Plibersek's plan fails to address the single most important factor in the impending extinction of the swift parrot: habitat destruction in native forests by logging. Plibersek's main function in the Albanese government seems to be providing endless, shiny, meaningless spin.

A whole bunch of people defending Aus PM Albanese wearing this Rio Tinto shirt bc they 'they don't mine coal anymore'. 2nd highest corp emitter in Aus. Emissions have risen since 2020, when you include scope 3. They are deeply invested in the fossil economy.
PM alby wearing a rio tinto shirt looking super madrio tinto at number 2 on the list of corporate emitters using operational data onlyRio's emissions, only falls when they sell a few coal mines, but most emissions remainemissions data table - rising from 576 to 583 from 2020 to 2022
