My local Drink & Draw used this "Medievil" fan-art I did to advertise this Sunday's drawing event at Dozer Coffee Co. in Ann Arbor, MI. If you're local: come on down from 10AM-1PM and get your art on! We DO allow skeletons (but ants will be dealt with swiftly and with extreme prejudice).

Something I now get to think about a lot because both my hands are pretty fucked from ulnar nerve damage is "If I had played less/no video games: how much more time with my hands would I have had to work on my comics?" I don't have an exact answer, but I know it's "a LOT of hours."

Hit my late 30s & now if I think about playing video games it triggers a disgust response. Don't think this is a universal feeling nor do I think it is a medium without merit. But I'm paralyzed by the thought of how much time I spent on them when I could have been doing something more constructive.

Panel pulls from a round of color correction/cleanup last night. Panels are from "Vampire Hunter Alone" Ch. 3 (which is completely drawn and colored, ch. 2 is not fully colored yet).

Color Correcting VHA pages because it needs to get done and it's not too hard on my busted ass hands/arms.

My arms/hands hurt all the time, and I'm not supposed to draw because of it, but I drew this guy at the end of a twelve hour shift so I didn't lose my mind.

My comic/WebToon had a disputed chapter (apparently it got just a smidge too violent for the "Teen" rating) and, thus, had a missing chapter (5) for a few weeks while I navigated WebToons odd age ratings system. It's now restored, no random missing chapter! www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/va...

Since I've been able to draw for about 1-2 hours a day, I've started coloring VHA ch. 2 again. Pages like this are cool, but they're also why I've just taken to photo bashing more recent chapters. It's the only way I'll get this done before I'm dead.

I can only draw for about 1-2 hours a day, currently due to my hand/arm issues, so this title page took 3 sessions to draw. This is for a 9 page ch. that shows a bit of Martin & Cody's time as soldiers on the front lines of the Great Lakes Reclamation Campaign. They're 2 years into their tour here.

I mean... it doesn't LOOK like my hands and arms are all messed up. When I looked all schlubby, my hands never hurt. Do I need to be in worse shape? Have I flown too close to the graphite-sun?!?

I wasn't the biggest Dolly fan... BUT I have been to "Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede" in Branson, Missouri twice, and it is a really awesome time. Tim Curry, I mostly knew from "Red Alert," which is better than any film credit could ever hope to be.

Had to wait to upload this commission because it was a gift (hence the mattes and framing, I cut the mattes myself), but it was happily received yesterday. This one was a lot of work of the traditional ink and marker kind, but it's the exact kind of thing I like to draw. (1/5)

Mailed out two extremely-packaged pictures today (matted and framed). I wish I could show them off, but they're part of a surprise for the commissioner's SO. So no can do until then. In not as cool of news: I won't be drawing much for the rest of this month (possibly longer), I'll explain... (1/3)

Did a quick drawing of what Martin would look like at age 13 (when he was drafted) for a short chapter I just wrote. In the world of VHA: you get drafted into the Great Lakes Reclamation Campaign at age 13. Compared to his 17 year old self: he's less chiseled, cuter, and his antlers are smaller.

Ok, it's laminated and on the work fridge. Will my co-workers be able to figure out that the long haired, backwards hat wearing, ferret with gloves is me? Picture below is of me for comparison, albeit I'm out of uniform here ("Bluey" tank tops are, regrettably, not considered proper work attire).

Yukio Mishima is one of, if not, my favorite author (not because of the stupid nationalism stuff, but because of his stupefying level of commitment) and "The Amazing Digital Circus" had me wretching in minutes at its shallow, pandering nature. So comics like this are spiritually devastating.

A fun game you can play is to use a search engine to see what anime characters match your height and weight (thanks also to the Japanese habit of including these measurements in official design documentation). As a proud older brother myself, though, you'll never get better results than me:

Sign I made for work today, I'll color it soon (hopefully), but, for now, I have to rest my hand after even this miniscule amount of inking. Recovering from an RSI is boring and takes forever.

Been dealing with an increasingly severe case of anhedonia, but I keep ploddin' along on my comic (16% of ch. 2 is now colored). I also have a notebook where I keep my school and gym notes; stuck a sticker on there to remind me why I'm doing all this stuff (I will adopt kids or die trying).

... his work apron is in the garage. I did look up actual patterns for 1950's housewife aprons for this scene. It ain't his apron. It's not his house either!

For the first 2-3 years I had both amateurs and professionals tell me that big, elaborate pages for a webcomic was "pretentious," and "a waste or time." And that the only thing that would ever "make money" was 3-4 panel daily strips...

My dad worked on the YF-23 fighter jet, so I drew one for Father's Day. Only two YF-23's were ever made, as it ultimately lost the JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) competition to the F22 in 2001. I was 13 at the time, and I remember my dad being really bummed about it. It really is a beautiful plane.

Even in the relatively speedy photo-bash form: the mighty FANUC M-900 takes a good while to ink and draw. If I could be reincarnated as anything, it would be a FANUC M-900. I think they're one of the most amazing pieces of machinery ever built.
