It never ceases to amaze me how MacOS can have great things like an incredibly good embedded OCR and automagic integration with other Apple devices and at the same time fail miserably in crucial things like UI scaling, font rendering or offering menus that are actually usable on widescreens

FTR the app-view is up and has been for a few weeks. Ingesting terabytes of social media data is not trivial. I've worked to re-implement some experimental work by Divy into rsky-ingester, rsky-backfiller, and rsky-indexer When it's production ready, it'll move off of staging.blacksky.community

@whey.party I have two feeds: Atproto ( bsky.app/profile/did:... ) and Following. Atproto works fine on reddwarf, but following doesn't. Is this tangled.org/@whey.party/... , or a different issue?

I need to make that Simpson's "don't make me tap the sign" meme, but the sign says: "saying atproto cannot be decentralized because if Bluesky wants Bluesky users only can interact with other Bluesky users is like saying email cannot be decentralized because GMail could do the same".

Bluesky infra costs are a Bluesky thing, not an Atproto thing. They decided to do their product that way, but that doesn't mean everything built in Atproto needs to be the same.

The latest version of the Taito F2 core fixes the shadows in PuLiRuLa so they "shimmer" like you see in the video. The shadows are just the character sprites drawn with a black color palette and scaled down vertically. So what makes them shimmer?

To the folks running Bluesky-like AppView! TOKIMEKI is a TweetDeck-like multi-column client that also supports clones of AppView via atproto-proxy. The endless proliferation of social app clones doesn't seem ideal for user experience. Why not make TOKIMEKI your main AppView client?
