Has anyone else noticed @wikipedia.org's new main page layout? It looks a bit unusual.

Wikipedia main page. On the center-left side of the page is "From today's featured article", and then the "Did you know" section. On the center-right of the page is "Help us improve this article!", and then the "In the news" section.

everyone is making pretty bold anecdotal claims about the Yandex DC going out resulting in less right wing content, but all the actual data I’ve seen has been saying it hasn’t moved the needle at all. I would be very skeptical of these claims; they will almost certainly turn out to be totally false.

I can't overstate how ghoulish the Alt National Park Service's "coverage" of ICE is. AltNPS is not providing an "alert." They're not in North Austin, just like they weren't in Chicago, or in Houston, or in Biddeford, or in my hometown of Minneapolis.

As far as I know, AltNPS has addressed the numbers exactly once, in April 2025. They said they "couldn't explain everything," claimed they were "targeted" for posting the numbers, and then spouted something about cell-site simulators and called it a day. They never mentioned the numbers again.

The numbers would continue through the summer before abruptly stopping. But the cryptic posts continued, and the audience was fully bought in. Followers speculated about the codes, and tried to read the tea leaves. Was it a warning? A coded message about a drone attack?

A Bluesky post from AltNPS, which reads, “Not all echoes are meant to return. The lights flicker not from power loss, but memory. When the clock chimes out of rhythm and the sky hums a little too low, you’ll understand what wasn’t written. Some birds don’t migrate—they vanish.” A commenter, whose name is redacted, replies: “This seems like a coded message. And, probably a warning. I'm thinking a mass sweep ( kidnapping ) is about to occur, maybe on that 4-20 date of rumor when most are enjoying the holiday? Sky humming too low sounds like military aircraft arriving unannounced across the country? Vanish is the message?” A second commenter, whose name is also redacted, replies: “Sky humming seems like drones.”

By April of this year, AltNPS seemed to have mostly moved on from this. They largely just reposted news headlines and stole the work of journalists, like usual. Much simpler to just scrape the bottom of the barrel than to actually pretend to be a spy.
