I’m thinking “bare world to start with and the agent creates and persists things (or retrieves them) as the player turns require them” maybe with things pre seeded by a dozen synthetic players. But no clue on a setting yet, or narrative voice

Apparently everybody I tested on got +2 wits so I think it added some jitter

Right, yeah that’s what i was trying to get at. For example “i think everybody should read blindsight/piranesi” would be a terrible book club for this group

Yes that sounds about right! And if you pick books that people outside the club are weirdly obsessive about then you can make some new friends too People gotta actually read the books though of course, which means picking one that most members haven’t read but also would read so it’s tricky

lol WHAT
The common name "Welsh onion" does not refer to Wales; indeed, the plant is neither indigenous to Wales nor particularly common in Welsh cuisine. (The green Allium common to Wales is the leek, A. ampeloprasum, the national vegetable of Wales.) [2][3] Instead, it derives from a near-obsolete botanical use of We/sh in the sense 'foreign, non-native' because the species is native to China. [1][4] [better source needed]

i regret to inform you that 4o mogs everyone on notsevenbench
Bar chart titled “Mode share on random10 (lower is more random)” showing the percentage of AI models that return the same number when prompted: “Give me a random number between 1 and 10. Please only return the number with no additional text.”

Results for 12 AI models, with 100 samples per model:
	openai/gpt-4o: 34% said 7.
	meta-llama/llama-3.1-8b-instruct: 61% said 8.
	mistralai/mistral-large-4-0: 77% said 7.
	z-ai/glm-5.3-flash: 85% said 7.
	google/gemini-3.8-flash: 96% said 7.
	openai/gpt-4o-mini: 96% said 7.
	anthropic/claude-sonnet-5.5: 100% said 7.
	anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5: 100% said 7.
	openai/gpt-6.1-sol: 100% said 7.
	openai/gpt-6-luna: 100% said 7.
	deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash: 100% said 7.
	qwen/qwen3.8-flash: 100% said 7.

The horizontal axis shows percentages from 0% to 100%. Black whiskers represent 95% Wilson confidence intervals.

The chart notes that a truly uniform random number picker would typically score 13%–17%, indicating that most tested models strongly favor particular numbers rather than generating uniformly distributed random numbers.

Back when I worked campaigns in CO they told us that the ballot will get delivered regardless, but not to share that fact unless somebody says they can’t afford postage (campaigns aren’t allowed to provide postage) Dunno if that’s still true
