Amazing to see the C19 picture! I spent 3 years studying in the UCL engineering tower two blocks beyond the building to the right. Much has changed but the feel of Byng Place in nearly 50 years ago is closer to the Victorian image than the contemporary one.

Sadly I do. Always try to get on at a non toilet vestibule as the other common feature of a Cross Country journey is you’re going to be standing!

Remember that well. It hade a very ‘comforting’ order to its chimneys and structure. As a young child I could see it from our house in Scunthorpe and later as a feature on a much more distant horizon. The loss of the ‘rural’ Power Stations has as markers within landscape is a great sadness .

When my wife did chemo and radiation, she would go outside once or twice a day and shed the hair as it all fell out. Today, seven months later, we just found a nest a bird (likely a wren) made out of her hair.

This was the vision of modern, contemporary, the future when I first really became aware or the different tube stock….. Didn’t live in London but saw the pictures and grew up admiring the graceful lines. So much Bluesky makes me feel old…..

This is Bear, Australia's most famous koala detection dog. After a decade of service, he's retiring. He's located hundreds of injured or displaced koalas after forest fires. We're told his retirement will be filled with rest, cuddles, and maybe a little mischief. 15/10
a gray and white australian koolie with bright blue eyes looks directly at the camera with a tongue-out smile. he's wearing a blue vest and the sun shines down upon him.Bear stands on charred ground wearing his blue vest and red booties. he looks up toward the sky. he's presumably found a koala high up in a tree.Bear sits low to the ground on a sandy beach. the waves of the ocean come in behind him, but he's too focused on the orange and yellow ball sitting in front of him to notice.

This 1,800 year-old Roman glass cup is so well preserved that the railway construction worker who found it in the 1800s used it as a flower vase not realising its age! 💐 😲 From Himlingøje, Denmark. National Museum of Denmark 📷 by me #Archaeology
My photo shows a tall Roman drinking cup made of very pale green, slightly cloudy glass. The surface is decorated with thin, trailed-on threads of blue and white glass that wind around the cup, giving it a raised, textured, pattern. This type of glass decoration is known as ‘snake-thread’. The cup narrows slightly at the bottom and stands on a small, rounded foot, like a pedestal. It looks similar to an ice-cream sundae glass or ornamental vase.

This cup and many other glass vessels made in the Roman provinces, have been found in ‘princely’ burials at the Himlingøje Necropolis, dated to Denmark’s Late Roman Iron Age. The site is known for its rich Roman imports, indicating close relations with the Roman empire.

Now Keir Starmer has answered his question. Let’s turn to Nigel Farage 1. Who paid for your house? 2. Why did you say the same as Nathan Gill who is in prison for taking bribes? 3. Have you paid for that Street’s energy Bills? 4. Has Dickie Tice paid his tax bill yet?

Visiting London in late 60s as a child they became etched in my memory, the flared sides, nothing like the tube line stock I had pictured off in my books. Loved the green interior… The favourite underground stock my lifetime .

A new Insta trend: workplaces (esp hospitals & care homes) in Germany show how they, how *we* all rely on migrants who work there, how they are part of this country, our friends, colleagues. We'd be poorer w/o them. They are appreciated. They are us. #GoodMorning, everyone [🎥 shortened; link below]
