Holy crap! Colton Cowser pulls two-run, game-winning HR back over the fence in Colorado for last out in 2-1 Orioles’ win. Can’t believe I stayed up for this and just saw this play - catch of the year. All of a sudden: How ‘bout dem O’s!

Happy birthday to the only player to slam an HR completely out of Memorial Stadium—60 years ago this season. Frank Robinson was a hard-charger on the field and a leader in clubhouse. When he came to Baltimore, he made a good team great and rallied a city☝️

Exited to share Stoop Storytelling stage tomorrow with some great Baltimore journalists. H.L Mencken famously said: "I had more fun doing news reporting than in any other enterprise. It is really the life of kings.” He was known for his love of drink and hyperbole, but he's right about the fun part.

A game-tying, pinch-hit home run Sammy Basallo in the 8th, two diving catches in right field by Tyler O’Neil in 9th, and then a walk-off double by Dylan Beavers in the 10th for a 4-2 Orioles win. How can you not be romantic about baseball?

“I shot Mr. Thompson,” Luigi Mangione told a federal judge today, pleading guilty. Maximum sentence is life in prison on each of two counts. Judge says he must serve at least 85% of sentence. His lawyers will argue plea means he cannot be tried for murder in state court. My profile from Dec. 2025:
