The Marine Corps does not allow tattoos related to extremist groups. Platner said he re-enlisted twice with the tattoo, it was inspected, and he was never told it did not meet the regulations. He has said was a dumb kid who got a scary looking tattoo.

The people of Maine, who have talked to him, want him. I've watched a lot of interviews with Platner. I'd vote for him if I lived in Maine. We need more real people in Congress. And real people are flawed. As long as he caucuses with the D's then we're better off.
