So many product descriptions on amazon are just obviously outright wrong, even if one ignores the Chinese to English translation errors. Then there are all the fake images where the product has been inserted into a photograph at a completely ridiculous scale... Entertaining.

Concert: The audience goes to hear the music. Big stage, loud. Indoor Gig: you are a supplement to the main activity. Small stage, volume set such that people can talk to each other. People who think indoor gigs are concerts are twats. Turn it down.

Someone (younger than me) should create a website that rates the click-bait levels of headlines so we can see which media outlets to avoid. The media used to be the watchdogs for society. Now we need watchdogs for the media.

WW II lasted 5 years. After over 4 years, of full scale war, some Western Countries are beginning to realise that something has to be done about Russia. More public statements, letter writing and sanctions. The human species is doomed by the leadership vacume.

Don't think that Google indexes all the web pages it finds. I have thousands of plain HTML pages to which I have been directing them with mapfiles for at least a decade and they don't bother indexing them. Nonsense claims of HTTP 404 (or 5xx), and all sort of erroneous nonsense. Even with adsense.

When buying a house don't look for one that already has solar panels. In fact, look for one that doesn't have a solar panel installation so that you can install a very good system for a mere £20,000 or so which is neither here nor there when buying most houses.

if ever given the choice of energy supplier, do not use British Gas. You cant even get the service shut off, and we have to pay them every day that they do nothing.

One of the most satisfying things in game dev (and all programming) is when you're adding a new feature and it ends up being easy because you designed something to be flexible a long time ago even though you didn't have a particular reason to at the time.

Opening joint accounts at HSBC (US & UK) is the most laborious slow and involved process I have ever encountered. You make a request, they say someone will call you, that call sets up anther call, then that happens and they set up another 40 min call, to fill in an application form.... "premier"

hey Experian, why can you find no trace of the IDs my wife and I created in 2021 to freeze access to our credit score? How the F are we supposed to thaw it now? Creating a new ID - oh! it knows that email address is used, yet it can't be used to reset the password (NOT forgotten) Abject failure

We're no more civilised than we've ever been. Slavery is contracted out to sweatshops. Drone footage of battlefield deaths have replaced amphitheatres. Tyrants sit on thrones appointed by a mob. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of the few while others starve. We are savage.

So called professional services do NOT always work with the best interests of their clients in mind. Consultants, advisors and especially real-estate lawyers. The seller is gouged at every opportunity because money is flowing in that direction.

I would say that 99% of UK property surveys are text warning the customer that the surveyor could not investigate certain items or that we should ask some other specialist about the items. 115 pages of mostly boiler plate legalese.

The incompetence of most world leaders today is so deep, that none of them will change their actions, because such a change would expose their incompetence. So they all continue the pretence and rely on doublespeak and legal loopholes to avoid responsibility.

The 2nd amendment is there to oppose an oppressive government. When it happens, they say they have no idea what the motive is. The fact that the suspect is reported to have been shot on the ground is the type of behavior that is being opposed.

A government for the people would provide transport infrastructure, universal healthcare, law enforcement, defence, education, and maintain an unbiased judicial system. The USA is not meeting any of those with a passing grade and is failing most of them.

Every new law should have the word "Experiment" added to the name. It must include a desired outcome and a metric for how to evaluate its effectiveness at a specific time in the future. If that time comes and the law is deemed ineffective, it is automatically repealed.
