Do I need to buy a bike computer so I know how fast I'm pedaling? Will we get speed cameras for trails before streets? Who is enforcing the OLT speed? In general, WTF is wrong with people? 🤔

Joe Hrdina @hrdcpy.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
🙄 Next they'll ban littering... Who actually believes a speed limit is how you address ebikes/emotos/escooters and other anti-social trail behaviors? Pat. Yourselves on the back!

Have you heard of the Sediment Buster? I'll lend it to you (or anyone else in Bay View reading this) if you want to give it a try. It helped some in my situation, but is really meant for regular maintenance jobs. sedimentbuster.com

Gotcha. There is a status hearing tomorrow to decide whether to process with a retrial or dismissal. I can't help but find connections between things in a non conspiracy theory way.

www.npr.org/2026/09/26/n... #Thalidomide #HumanExperiment
"It's probably the most iconic toxic drug of all time because of its signature injuries," Vanderbes said. "It transformed the FDA because it made it clear that more significant and serious drug testing had to take place before drugs were released on the market."

The doctors didn't tell the women they were taking thalidomide or document it in their medical records, Vanderbes said. The women "had no slips of paper that showed their prescription. They had no bottles with a label."

What many did have were children born with truncated limbs.

But even after these babies were born, and even after the scientific community understood the dangers of thalidomide, doctors did not reveal that they had given their patients the drug, Vanderbes said. Some women were specifically told they had not taken it

The timing is curious since we currently have a woman on trial who had strangled her children and the emotionally manipulative media is targeting a man. Surveillance can and does lead to false narratives and accusations. Maybe stadiums can upcharge for seating that guarantees privacy from broadcast

Well, maybe not fully depleted down to the wire but also not optimal. Have I mentioned that I rent and care more about maintaining this property than than the owner? 🤦 Here's one image from inside. The view is rotated where left and right are up and down in the tank.
A boroscope image inside of an electric hot water heater showing two rods or pipes covered in crystalized mineral deposits. The image's perspective is 90-degrees clockwise from natural.

Joe Hrdina @hrdcpy.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
😆 I didn't check that yet and I wasn't entirely sure I had one at first. Based on the video I saw when using a boroscope inside the tank, it's likely been depleted.

This is your reminder to flush your water heater. Sediment builds up even if you have clean tap water. A surprise to me was the sediment solution, that's slightly more dense than water, and how it hurts efficiency and overall usable capacity. I replaced two heating elements and vacuumed the sludge
A hand submerging a scrub brush wand into a blue 5-gal bucket of water and sediment vacuumed from a water heater. Less-dense clear water occupies the top 4-inches of depth and the head of the scrub brush disappears into the milky cream colored sediment solution. Two metal heating elements for a hot water heater. The one on the left is old and covered in mineral deposits and the one on the right is a new stainless steel replacement. A view looking through the bottom heating element port on an electric hot water heater. Sediment sludge has collected and caked-up in the bottom of the tank.

Going to the farmer's market was a mistake as barely any any vendors showed up and the only coffee was $5 "Serbian" coffee in a 3oz cup. The coffee, baklava a croissant sandwich were forgettable.

Which style of pizza do you prefer? I'm partial to Neapolitan-style. When in Chicago, I've had consistent experiences at Parlor Pizza Bar. Their custom pies like Brussels sprouts and Bahn mi were really well done. Where I live in Milwaukee it's hard to choose because there are so many good options

My head is about to explode... Wait until they hear of roads! BTW, Lime scooters have been around much longer and the city has failed to address reckless moto/quad riders. The county has failed at basic trail maintenance. It feels like our alders intentionally hide in their offices. 🤦🤦🤦

Whoa! Congrats. $51 is huge for an individual class action payout. Did you attempt to deposit it using your bank's app or is that not an option? My last was <$9 and came in the form of a digital debit card. I just donated it to a GFM so I could get it out of my mind as a demand/task.

Hmm. It's uncommon to find places that accept personal cheques in the U.S. outside of mailing rent or paying the gov't. My last situation that required a cheque was to pay the local PD for mailing a DVD from an open records request. What a retro experience. 🤓

Re: iPhone Duo It appears that when the Duo is open like a book \./ that the keyboard will split and reorient for thumb typing. I tried my friend's Fold and was quite impressed by feel of it. The iPhone Duo appears too wide and seems to favor right-handed use when folded. 🤷

You mean like holding the keyboard key and swiping L and R? I'm unsure and don't keep my iPad Mini up to date to know if they made changes recently. What they need is a split keyboard where you can thumb type rather than peck.

When will iOS give in and implement Android's spacebar shortcut that allows users to move the text cursor? It's objectively better UX l, but Apple would rather you wait for a mini magnifying glass to show you what your finger is hiding. iPhone Fold must get a new keyboard layout or it's a fail.
