The VA is openly blaming the government shutdown on the Democrats. These systems need to stay out of partisan politics to best serve the fine people who have served this country.

As you may be aware, funding for some government agencies, including portions of the Department of Veterans Affairs, expired at midnight this morning.

President Trump opposes a lapse in appropriations, and on September 19, the House of Representatives passed, with the Trump Administration’s support, a clean continuing resolution to fund the government through November 21. Unfortunately, Democrats are blocking this Continuing Resolution in the U.S. Senate due to unrelated policy demands.

During the current lapse in funding, the vast majority of VA benefits and services will continue uninterrupted, but the government shutdown is not without consequences to VA. Here is what you need to know:

Individual Democrats are more likely to be trans friendly in general, but in a state like Utah are afraid to be out about their politics. If we advocate for more trans friendly community leaders, who are usually Democrat, we can improve trans people’s lives at the local level.

It’s stupid that this is even a way I have to think, but I am scared for when my spouse travels without me. Could she be targeted? Would they arrest her and take away the kids? If the government can target people simply by skin color and languages spoke, we are screwed as a society.

Conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in Monday's decision that the lower court's restraining order went too far in restricting how Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents could carry out stops or questioning of suspected unlawful migrants.
"To be clear, apparent ethnicity alone cannot furnish reasonable suspicion," he wrote.
"However, it can be a 'relevant factor' when considered along with other salient factors."

Sorry if my comment came off in a way that suggested that you personally don’t support trans rights. Most Democrats and many others support trans rights and show love to our community. This is the reason it is so easy for a candidate to support trans rights and still get the votes they need.

Newsom was unlikely to get my primary vote long before his podcast debacle. I don't think he's actually going to make it as the nominee because at the end of the day, he's the sort of triangulator most of the base is sick of. That said, I will grant him the opportunity to do better on trans rights.

The bar for winning over trans people is very low. Basically saying we won’t take away your rights, or your children’s rights, to healthcare and the right to legally exist as your authentic self. Almost no resources need to be spent on winning our vote, but we still get blamed for the loss.

As problematic as the LDS church may be for many, it is a shame that several feel that they have to choose one or the other when it comes to living authentically. I am one of those who felt they had to choose the other, but I do find value in my good experiences from my time in the faith.

They don’t have any safety net or the money to afford council outside of a JAG attorney. They will not have a case to say their orders are invalid if they are picking up trash. They should just pick up the trash and not ruin their lives. Let us fight for them instead.

This is really easy to say, but they are taken from their jobs and families to go on these orders. They are usually on the lower end of the working class in their civilian careers (like fast food and stuff) and don’t have the privilege to push back without totally destroying their lives.

I’m trans and a democrat and use half or more of those terms on that list with lots of people and have not found it to be particularly problematic. With some people unfamiliar to these common terms, I will use similar language that they understand, but isn’t demeaning to these groups.

We have had suburbans in the past, for hauling around family or such, but the front ends are so much taller on everything manufactured after 2006. I hate driving any truck that is newer and I’m retired from the army reserve and drove around in military vehicles all the time.

Another gross part about it is that part of the reason that they make them bigger is to skirt the CAFE standards for vehicles. Since it is classified as a light truck, because it is so huge, it isn’t required to meet strict fuel economy regulations.
