The average price of heating oil in Maine hit $5.77 a gallon last week. That’s a 74% increase from 2025. This is a disaster for Mainers, half of whom rely on heating oil. At a time when food and fuel costs are rising and millions are struggling, many families will be forced to make hard choices.
