Tickets booked! Very much looking forward too travelling back to Tyneside & celebrating the next @anncleeves.bsky.social book in October. These events are a lovely chapter point within the year, Indie bookshops have a lovely sprayed spine edition too - get buying!

Found this flamboyant individual at a carboot 😍 I never really dabbled into this line as a child but always recall them being on the top shelf in Woolworths.

What has been your favourite @bigfinish.bsky.social release of 2026 so far? Do you think there has been any really overlooked gems that have slipped under the radar? #doctorwho

🚀'Personally, I think that's one hell of a bird.' 🏰 So exciting to meet Peter Capaldi again, such a gent & a lovely interaction during the photo session that I will treasure. #DoctorWho #PeterCapaldi

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Capaldi casually name dropping... the menoptra... the zarbi... Katy manning... Target novels... Frontier in space... Without even slight hesitation 😂 This guy 100% has a shelf of the complete season Blu-rays in his house 😂 Also he wanted to remake 'The Web Planet' YES PLEASE

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Capaldi clearly loves DW but also (I think) likes that his era is now complete. He has no plans to do Big Finish currently - "this may change" - but loves the idea that his Doctor is still out there in space living life. Honestly love that for him.

NEW DOCTOR WHO FIGURE REVIEW! Fashionably late to the party as always these days but here is my in depth ramble about the new lovely 'Dark Water' cybermen figures - Hope You enjoy! Watch Here: youtu.be/G68fHDd_cjU #DoctorWho

Doctor Who figures that impressive I've brought myself out of reviewing retirement 😂 REVIEW ON THE WAY! 📺 (Not actually retired just rather struggle to produce reviews at the minute)

Most are getting excited over Dark Water cybermen, meanwhile me in my own little world... My little creepy gargoyle has arrived! 😍 Bok number 20 is the latest member on the Harrop shelf, love the craftsmanship as always.

For fans of Doctor Who & TORCHWOOD on audio with @bigfinish.bsky.social the brilliant Lauren Mooney has her Debut novel "Service" out NOW! I'm hoping to track down the indie copy in store soon but I may cave & order online 👀

Justin Richards. How your work Influenced my early life in so many ways. 'Monsters & Villains' my preview into classic DW age 7. 'Apollo 11' my first "big" book I read age 10. & The many 'Jago & Litefoot' tales let teenage me escape the world & put a smile on my face. You will be missed.

Such awful news about the passing of Justin Richards. We first met in 1978 as teenagers, and over the years it was wonderful to see his writing career soar. He was a true talent and simply the nicest man in the Whoniverse. (photo by Lisa Bowerman)

As a gift to 8 year old me, I bought him a bloke with some jars on plinths. He always had his eye on this one but pocket money wouldn't stretch as there were lots more exciting things at the time. Another gap in the collection filled!

Experienced Christopher Eccleston perform Peter Flannery's 'The Name of That Song' monologue this afternoon. Really special way to spend a Sunday and so thrilling witnessing Chris embody a role in front of my eyes rather than on screen.

Revisiting Christopher Eccleston's excellent autobiography 'I love the bones of you' this week. First read on publication, so many lovely compliments for Billie, although this bit now has a bit of new meaning 😂 Billie Piper? The Doctor? Could anyone picture that? 👀

The U-16 social media ban does concern me. Restrictions are absolutely required but prohibiting use entirely is not the way. If I didn't start reviewing when I did, sharing my interests, I fundamentally believe I wouldn't have found a voice to pursue higher education.

Yesterday I finished @anncleeves.bsky.social 'The Killing Stones' 📚 Once more, blown away by the attention to character but especially the vivid geography & inter-relationships. Having not read Shetland (yet) I feel I shouldn't have connected with this one as much? But I absolutely did.

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

Lovely arrival from @tenacrebooks.bsky.social this week 📚 The limited hardback edition of 'You Are Not Alone' by Patrick Mulkern. Can't comment on the contents yet but I'm always blown away by how high quality & beautiful their books are. Love the additional postcards/bookmarks too.

Sighted in the wild @barristersecret.bsky.social 'The Cut Throat Trial' also the paper back of @anncleeves.bsky.social 'The Killing Stones' is now out! Two titles perfect for some criminally good summer reading, both brilliant in their own unique ways.

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

My first battles in time card since probably 2010? I'm sure we can all agree... Worth the wait & a notable gap in the collection filled at last.

GOODBYE TORCHWOOD 💔 You have been an absolute joy. One of the most enjoyable, varied Big Finish ranges in recent years & I'm very sad to see it come to an end but what a journey? Ending the line with two very fitting characters...

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

*insert dramatic 8th doctor music here* Look what's arrived! And it looks BEAUTIFUL 😍

My Collection remains in complete disorder after the cabinet explosion last year but today's little job is to organise my Dapol collection. I don't think I've ever shown the collection in its entirety? It's been a little side-hobby for the last few years.

Busy Saturday ahead, first stop Record Store Day then seeing the lovely folk at scifi Scarborough meeting Paul Mcgann for the first time in a good few years. My @bigfinish.bsky.social listening to accompany me on my travels 🎧

A finale curtain call for Billis. So much spirit & spook of other Billis stories whilst remaining focused on it's new lead characters. A group of actors reunited to perform, creepy goings on, another tightly woven character piece. @bigfinish.bsky.social

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Continuing Doctor Who S21 with 'The Awakening' after seeing Warriors at the BFI. I know nothing about this one, never seen it, it's very odd so far? I think I'm enjoying it but I have absolutely no idea what's going on? The locals are a bit weird.

Ben @hostproductions.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

If you aren't drinking all beverages out of this not at all unsettling vessel today you are not a proper Doctor Who fan. Just saying. You can't argue with the rules.

All new Matthew Venn on the way this October from @anncleeves.bsky.social ! 📚 Looking forward to where this series goes next for Venn & the team, it feels like it's been a while since the last visit, time flies. Question is... Who's in a tricky situation this time? 👀 🪦

Living in the North we don't get many Doctor Who stories set locally - but Dracula originated on my doorstep so it was nice to be able to do this! 📚 I needed to put up a fight with the wind to get this snap 😂 @paulmagrs.bsky.social

Reviews are on pause at the minute whilst I get my life together but I have fitted in some @bigfinish.bsky.social when I can. These two are my 2026 highlights so far! Cloud Eight is superbly written & floor 13 is a great celebration of Norton Folgate.

TORCHWOOD sale on @bigfinish.bsky.social I'm DUTY BOUND to draw your humble attention to multiple Lauren & @stewartwpringle.bsky.social stories that you must listen too! Dog hop, Grey Mare, Lincolnshire, Poppet - some of the strongest audios in recent years. Public service announcement ends.

This has to be a new record for me, picked up for 50p from a car boot mere months after first publication! I live not far from Whitby, the stories location, so was actually intending on tracking this title down anyway.

Absolutely love how Ol'Sixie has been incorporated into the design. Peter remains the focus but Six gets nice rep on box, booklet & discs AND 'Twin' has a new documentary. It doesn't just feel tacked on? Six feels a very much part of this so now all 80s docs have 3 sets each 🥺

"C.S. Lewis meets H.G. Wells meets Father Christmas - that's the Doctor." This week of all weeks feels fitting to share my recent photo with Mr David Bradley - A gentleman! Very glad to cross paths with him again.

Probably my favourite new BBC show since Ludwig in 2024. Beautifully produced, heartfelt music, a fantastical tale of Grief, friendship & a good laugh too. I'm not one for "binge" viewing but I was so taken by this story I finished it very quickly. Highly recommend.

Replacement Cybergene discs have arrived from @bigfinish.bsky.social 😍 I've not got round to this one yet so glad I get to experience the story with the now amended, varied, cyber-vocals.

Looking for some Belinda episodes from season 2 on iPlayer. Silly me was looking under the 'Doctor Who' collection tab when I should have been looking under the other 'Doctor Who' tab... Could be worse, I could have been scanning through 26 seasons under the 'Doctor Who' tab.

London people! I'll be back in London for LCC Spring this month. I'm considering other things to do around that weekend, Feb 27th - March 2nd. Any & all suggestions welcome, from shows, locations, attractions etc

Feel insanely lucky to have witnessed Jodie Comer herself performing 'Prima Facie' last night. This production, it's story, has captivated me for years. Watched the cinema screening multiple times, stream version & the book but seeing it with my own eyes? INSANE!

For those who enjoy The Ninth Doctor 'Cloud Eight' released today, there is so so SO MUCH More to explore in these 4 really impressive TORCHWOOD stories. 'Grey Mare' is one of the best hours of @bigfinish.bsky.social - recommend all of these.
