(3/3) The red flag to watch for looks different: not wild/disinhibited like Zoloft — more “amped up but not happier.” Tense, irritable, overstimulated. The hardest part isn’t learning this info. It’s the regret of wondering what could have been different. Just needed to get this out of my head.

(2/3) Activation Syndrome is antidepressant-induced activation: inner restlessness, agitation, dysregulation — most commonly starts in the first 1–4 weeks or after a dose increases. Pretty certain we didn’t catch my symptoms due to masking them from just being a tired parent or work stress.

It’s been a rough 3 years. I’ve withdrawn from being social and haven’t really been happy. There is something called Activation Syndrome. We discovered it researching meds for my kid’s anxiety. Two meds tried, same reaction both times. We also found that Wellbutrin causes it. (1/3)

Raw version always > overproduced. The recent album re-releases have been so good: Thrice – Artist in the Ambulance Sunny Day Real Estate – Diary Anberlin – Nevertake Always never liked the overproduced 90’s / 2000’s “new” versions. What else has dropped recently that’s worth a listen? #music

Something has me thinking of Lost Words: Beyond the Page. It’s heavy and weird considering where I am. I do appreciate it though because that game gave me catharsis and healing when I needed it greatly.

Baltimore is nice. Closer to MAGFam is always great, but Philly is the fucking best place I have ever lived. Go to Philly.

000

thatguy @horizontaladam.bsky.social · 12/12/2025

Philly sucks! If you go there you will be forced to see art everywhere. Outside of buildings, inside of buildings, on buildings… You will be forced to walk every because the city is so walkable. Ewww. This one time I was walking around and I found a former bomber plane turned into a greenhouse. 🤢

Finished reading The Autistic's Guide to Self-Discovery about 2 weeks ago, and I have not stopped recommending it to therapists. Honestly, it is great reading for anyone who has uttered the phrase "(Another person) can't be autistic because..."
