There’s a quote in this book that enrages me so much: ‘the accusations against her abuser defies logic!’ This is what’s wrong. Abusers lack empathy for humanity. Of course that defies logic! That so-called experts and rescuers of child suffering don’t see that is illogical.

This is how abusers win in a patriarchy that upholds them. Another way of forcing us to ‘toe the line’. This is why victims don't speak out. The fear is real. The shame of being treated like this is greater than the shame we are left to bear after such abuse, because it becomes two-fold.
