It's complicated. One person made a whole thaumcraft "decomp" (ai) and soon people realized he was transphobic. At the same time CofH, who works on the official thaumcraft port, copystruck the decomp for copyright violations due to it not being an actual decomp and without permission. (1/2)

I genuinely don't understand why this is being framed as though the law is specifically about cracking down on asexuals. It's an anti-LGBT crackdown and it's being discussed as such outside of Western contexts. It's weird to reframe the law in this clickbait-y way.

I don't want to be a cunt but the way this is being reporting is kind of... gross? Clicking the link leads to a report about homosexuality being criminalized for the first time in Niger's history. Asexuality is only mentioned insofar as the acronym "LGBTQIA+" is used a few times.

In June 2026, the nation of Niger became the first nation in the world to criminalise asexuality, as part of a wider crackdown on the LGBTQIA+ community.
