It's good to learn new things.

Is this from something, or what did you do??

At least you'll be somewhere someone didn't poop in the bush nearby. Possibly.

Scratch that, right after I posted a new book from the library, I was notified by the library that *both* my holds were now available for pickup. So returned The Children of Húrin (an hour after borrowing). Picked up Dungeon Crawler Carl *and* Red Rising. Will be reading DCC first.

New book from the library! The Children of Húrin, by J.R.R. Tolkien. I've never read it, and thought it may be a good read before RoP S3 (cuz I'm one of the few who actually like that show).

When you spend hours working on your character look, but no time playing the actual game.

Finished King of Ashes. This book starts strong, stays almost as strong, but then the ending falls flat. So much buildup, I really hoped for a satisfying payoff, then fizzle. 500 pages to work towards an anticlimactic 'sup, bro?' moment. 3.8/5.

That sucks, but hopefully they at least fix something to make it worthwhile.

So all the nonsense will be over with by the time you start. That's how that works, right?

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I bet those people don't read, either. Sad.

These types of conversations are always tricky. My wife and I have them a lot when discussing books one of us is reading that the other has finished. Spoilers will ensue, haha.

Normal to bleed from that?? You have quite the luck with doctors.

Almost sounds like they sent back the wrong iPads. Either way, shows their level of professionalism, or lack thereof.

Wish I knew this before having planned dinner, haha.

Kinda telling she doesn't call this man she knows a friend. She essentially sexually assaulted this guy verbally (he said no, she kept going). All the time she's the example she claims she wants to prevent from happening.

Impossible amount of things to do even with another person, when you have a tiny terror.

I wouldn't know about the present day video games. Haven't played a new one in years.

Becoming an animal won't help, cuz humans are f*cking them over as much as possible, too. Taking everyone and everything down with us.

Don't worry, he'll need those two boxes as soon as you get rid of them.

Agreed. That is absolutely not Scooby, that is Scrappy incarnate.

On second thought, football brunch sounds amazing.

There's always The Hunt for Gollum. Maybe it'll be good.

Those movies sadly didn't hold up as well as the LotR movies.

Morning games throw off the food situation for games, I think.

Dating sucks. And people seem way worse now than they did even just 10 years ago. Good luck?

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Hope you have a good book, at least. Looks like you'll be there for a while.

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

It's crazy how a random person's words can make people feel that way. And so often they never truly know.

Fire the officials. Castrate the rapists. And put all of them (including write-an-essay officials) in prison.

010

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I don't think very many have seen it, the movie flew under the radar. Which is crazy because there are SO many A-list people in it.

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

It had a lot of potential. There was a lot that I liked. Just not any of the characters. I had no care for their stories at all. Which was sad.

010

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Meh, they want to be hateful, it's their loss. Wind & Truth was amazing. I'm close to getting back into my Cosmere reread, but not yet.

Granted that I myself have been a naysayer (looking at you, Eragon). It's good we all like different books.

110

Homotopy Coder @homotopycoder.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Made the mistake of looking at reviews for King of Ashes before borrowing it. They tore the book apart, badly; I was hesitant to try it. Now 33% through. Am I reading a different book? It's been really good so far. Book reviews are personal. Read what you like, let the naysayers f*ck off.
