It takes a village to make a little queer press!IF YOU BELIEVE, become a monthly donor of Sio-$25 per month. He is aiming for a humble $2,16o a month in monthly donations ($2,000 after his fiscal sponsor's 8%) and is currently at $350.LINK IN BIO, darlings.

"Drinking Chifir in front of Rublev's Trinity" is a wonderful example of how the poet is animated by and encapsulates history: Lili Elbe, the Russian Revolution, Jesus with a womb, Alkonost the bird with a woman's head, sodomy laws. In Grace's hands, they come alive and flutter~

The Invitation is critical of queer theology as a practice in one popular way, and it advocates for doing more queer theology in the way I thought was better. But that doesn’t really matter unless it accomplishes its job of inviting you to think.

It’s a little dated and highly influenced by my own experience. Still, it’s a decent and energetic invitation to queer theology. Before Coarse Work became a project, I intended it to be free. So, I'm sharing it again in light of the recent discourse around Matthew Vines's (dull) critiques/

Two smiling people: a curly haired blond man with a floral vest with nothing on underneath it, but wearing a pearl necklace and holding a sandwhich, because he forgot to put it down, and a brunette woman with a red top with a design of black leaves and flowers. She wears purple and turquoise glasses and a red lip.The same woman sits in a sanctuary on a chair between a music stand and microphone and the altar. She reads from a piece of paper. She is wearing a the red top, a black skirt, and black pump boots.

The collection's speaker is a student of various histories and a lover of the landscape that animates them, a landscape marked by rapid climate change. She finds herself through plumbing the disjunctures between the narratives she inherits, and comes to accept herself as a gay woman in the process.

It really makes you think. No text, just the slide of man sitting.Anyway, so for classes, I wrote essays on gay Christian celibates, Walt Whitman, some obscure poets and theologians.
And eventually, queer theology, and the place—often lack—of gay sex within it. The book begins with the most recent work (2020ish) and goes backwards.
