One of those weeks where lots gets done but progress isn't obvious. Thankfully, wins are there if you know where to look. Wildlife stole the show here, fledglings everywhere, a bold young fox, bees and butterflies, and little patches of rewilding starting to take hold. What joy was in your week?

Behind them is an out‑of‑focus green background, suggesting a garden or natural outdoor setting. Photo by @TheOtherKev.

The heat is already hitting some of us hard, and the bank holiday weekend looks even hotter. We swapped heated blankets for cooling towels last week. Anyone who melts over 20°C, it's not too late to join us at 7pm tonight for Ask the OT, we'll dust off the fans! www.hypermobility.org/events

A flat‑lay arrangement of heat‑relief items sits on dark blue fabric decorated with small white cat illustrations. The items include a large woven sun hat with alternating blue and white bands and wooden bead accents, a light blue handheld fan, a blue zippered pouch, a neatly folded pale blue towel, two circular light blue cooling pads, and a clear bottle containing an “Instant Cooling Towel.” The overall setup suggests preparation for hot weather and staying cool outdoors.

Relaxation is hard. When you use half your energy just holding it together, “rest” isn’t simple. It takes practice and that can be stressful! Hence our weekly members' sessions with Kim (Mon 8pm). How do you relax? I’m a water baby, in it, near it. Forest light comes a close second! :)

On the right is a soft, rounded illustration of a person sitting cross‑legged, wrapped in a blanket, looking peaceful and comfortable. The HMSA’s multicoloured tree logo sits above the text, and hypermobility.org is printed at the bottom.

Fantastic end to an amazing 3 days at #BSR2026. Lisa chaired a brilliant session on multidisciplinary hypermobility assessment, improving treatment, and overcoming barriers. Huge thanks to everyone for the engagement all week — the conversations continue.

In the foreground, a laptop and large monitor display a slide titled “Spider Tool,” listing key features of the tool for assessing multisystemic symptoms in hEDS and HSD. Busy day at the #BSR2026 yesterday: awareness‑raising, a packed talk, and great discussions with clinicians. Today we’re back at the stand, and Lisa is chairing a hypermobility session later.

The combination of a firm mattress and a body pillow works best for me.

What kind of mattress works for a hypermobile body? No simple answer, but we ask now and then because tech and trends evolve. Memory foam, hybrid, futon, smart-bed, or a stack of layers like the princess & the pea? Share your wins, fails, and top tips. #BendyBeds #Hypermobility

ICYMI, Thursday's 'Ask the OT' session is up for replay on the site. We're prepping tonight's session with @stickmancomms on communicating hidden symptoms and disabilities. We face many, which are your most frequently encountered, most annoying and/or most difficult to resolve?
Two people use a toy-style string telephone made from plastic cups. The woman on the left shouts dramatically into her cup, while the man on the right looks shocked, holding his cup to his ear and his cheek in disbelief. Their exaggerated expressions highlight the chaos of miscommunication. Plain grey background.
