This page has the end of the story of St Christophorus, the story of Matthew and Andrew starts at the bottom left, and continues on the next page. The copiist is from the famous Alqosh family, whose scribes we can trace from the early 17th to the early 20th century - great to see this here!

“We will defend our rights.” Outcry and anger over the demolition of Syriac properties in Beth Zabday (Azakh)
BETH ZABDAY-AZAKH (IDIL), Tur Abdin — Recent actions by the Department of Zoning and Urban Planning of Idil Municipality involving the sealing and demolition of properties and public structures belonging to Syriac citizens in Beth Zabday (Azakh-Idil) have sparked widespread backlash. A press release published by Melke Karagöl, lawyer of the Idil Virgin Mary Church Foundation, emphasized that these actions of targeting family homes, businesses, and a church guesthouse with continued legal proceedings have led to a sense of intimidation and severe anxiety within the Syriac community.

Another day, another page from a manuscript unique in world history. This is the "Cambridge Yiddish Codex," the earliest known collection of Yiddish texts (1382 CE). It preserves Jewish homilies, animal fables, and a lost poem of the German epic tradition, "Dukus Horant." It was discovered in Cairo.
Light brown waterstained paper folio with about 20 lines of Yiddish text in brown-black ink, much of which is faded. The background is white and a small red caption reads T-S 10K22 (https://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-TS-00010-K-00022/23).

ARSUZ, Turkey — The earthquake of 8 February 2023 had their epicenters in Maraş and affected 11 Turkish provinces and millions of people. Tens of thousands of people lost their lives. Homes, places of worship, and workplaces were destroyed. More than three years after the disaster, many sacred buildings are still leveled. Hatay Province is one of the provinces where churches and synagogues were impacted by the massive destruction.

In a Dutch town, an ancient Christian tradition finds a new home
RIJSSEN, Netherlands — The first thing heard on a Sunday morning at the Syriac Orthodox Church of St. Ignatius Nurono is not Dutch. It is Syriac, part of the Aramaic language family. This ancient language rises with the incense, carried through the church in hymns whose words have been sung by generations of Christians long before the community's families ever arrived in the Netherlands.
