Who’s the “we” in regards to wanting expensive games to be made? Some of the best games released recently have not go stupid budgets to them. It’s a dumb argument and in regards to Warhorse they should know better. They’ve made two games - the co owner needs to wind his neck in a bit.

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.

Wouldn’t shock me if Max Payne remake shows up at TGA either, that game is close considering plenty of assets are right there to be had from AW2 and now Control Resonant. Think the camera and animations / movement of Dylan Faden won’t be far off how Max Payne is going to play either.

What a superb game - think Remedy have now well and truly set the bar in terms of what a sequel should look like and be imo. This is the best character action game in years, the gameplay loop never gets old, exploring a dense Manhattan and finding secrets. I love it.

You’re right they don’t align with reality, problem is I’m not sure if that dev cost number was accurate of $400m (not sure if it got debunked?) there is zero chance that their numbers are going to look healthy selling just on Xbox and PC. Gears Remastered on PS5 outsold both Xbox and PC combined!

Yeah I’m an hour in on Control Resonant but GOTY is a wrap, this is absolutely incredible. I’ve spent the last few days with Silent Hill Townfall but that has fallen flat on its face for me, the aggressive push for stealth, all the while giving you a gun, has just been a massive pain in the ass.

Terrible news for the staff there. Not entirely surprised there’s been no takers though as their work is very much arthouse - not hugely popular within games. Their studio is one of the best equipped in the UK too for tech. Will be a huge miss.

If the issue was Death Stranding’s expense they wouldn’t have made the deal in the first place!? If you think that the two correlate then I don’t really know what to say to you. This is an action espionage game - by the guy that virtually created the genre in gaming. It’s an easy win, simple.
