I'm exploring Gent with friends, but have a little #DD in honour of my friend Delmy 🩵 I hope you like it 💙 #Daredevil #MattMurdock #CharlieCox #Wisesnail #SpeedPaint #SaveDaredevil

Digital illustration of Daredevil emerging from deep shadows. The character is wearing his signature dark red cowl with subtle devil horns, with dramatic light illuminating one side of his face and a sly, slight smirk. Thin red vertical lines and a faint circular halo overlay the shadowy artwork, accompanied by red splatter effects near the bottom. The watermark "WISESNAIL" is visible across his chest.

It seems like I can never make up my mind, hence another double portrait.. I'm having really fun with these #DD portraits! I hope you like it 💙 #Daredevil #MattMurdock #CharlieCox #Wisesnail #SpeedPaint #SaveDaredevil

Digital painting of Daredevil viewed from behind in his black, makeshift vigilante suit, looking down over his shoulder. He holds a pair of batons in his gloved hands against a textured, dark, and moody background with a thin white circular halo shape framing his head. The watermark "WISESNAIL" is printed across his back.

Same as the previous portrait, but instead of being in black and blue tones, it's black and magenta.

I hate the NIN erasure that happens with Hurt. I really do.

010

milli ~ hit_the_books @hitthebookspost.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

This is a PSA: Hurt is not originally by Johnny Cash. What he sang is a cover of a Nine Inch Nail's song. I love the fanfic I am reading, but so help me, this rubs me the wrong way. #fanfic #fandom

Please be patient, I think you know the drill by now - I just need to get it out of my system 🙈 #Daredevil #MattMurdock #CharlieCox #Wisesnail

Digital portrait of Matt Murdock from Marvel's Daredevil, rendered in a painterly, textured artistic style. He wears a dark suit, white collared shirt, red tie, and signature small, round, red-tinted glasses. His head is tilted upward in a stoic expression with light stubble. A fine, bright circular halo frames his head. The background features mixed textures of cool blue, green, and red paint strokes, overlaid with thin vertical lines and specks, with the watermark "WISESNAIL" visible near the figure's neck.

My big issue is my boss is on holiday at the moment. So it feels like I'm being encroached on as a result. Also, I found out from a deputy manager, my boss and their boss Gaye eachother.

Listening to Kermode and Mayo podcast ep from a few months ago and Mark said of American film culture that it's: An "infantalised culture". And considering the puritan BS and similar crud that happens in fandom spaces so much these days, instigated a lot by US fans? Yeah I can see it, as a Brit.

And I say that someone who was the native English beta reader helping people polish their 50,000+ Destiel or Wincest fanfics for bangs, where English wasn't the fic author's first language. That system works and keeps your writing human. It helps build fan communities.

220

milli ~ hit_the_books @hitthebookspost.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Either get a English speaking beta reader for your semi okay English version and have them polish it, or someone who's fluent in your native language and good at English translating from your native tongue for you. All an LLM is gonna do is flatten your writing.

milli ~ hit_the_books @hitthebookspost.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Just thinking on a thread that was deleted from r/AO3 today, where OP was arguing about using AI as a non-native English speaker to polish their fanfic and it being okay. I'm not cool with fics being written this way.

Digital doodle of Hannibal Lecter as SpongeBob, wearing a fancy suit. And Will Graham as Squidward with a head full of hair and wearing a red shirt with its sleeves rolled up. Around Will is seven snail's that are all look like SpongeBob's pet Gary, as they are supposed to represent Will's seven dogs. Will and Hannibal are looking at the viewer, Hannibal with a smile, Will with an unreadable expression. The seven snails/ dogs are all giving a mixture of emotions, between apprehension of Hannibal, confusion and boredom.
