Committee members should be required to take the oath before these hearings so that anything they say, like Schmitt’s text bullshit, can be held against them. New and timely research on tropical cyclone-associated extreme precipitation in California (yes, you read that right!) in a warming climate. While such events remain uncommon, a large increase in likelihood of such events is projected with ocean warming.

As a California native I have a bad feeling about this. With all of that latent energy in the pacific and an El Niño capable of directing a sustained jet at us we may be in for a very rough ride next winter. The question at my elevation of 6100’ is whether it will be rain or snow.
