Rabbits and rabbits and rabbits and more possums, both digital and traditional sketches. I'm collectively counting this as #17 and #18 so i can move onto the big challenge, and then bodies! Feels a little easier to do this than it did at the beginning.......

Went on the first run/jog since the surgery and I forgot how great endorphins feel hnnngh Also omfg I can breathe better. Also also you find neat places when you're out and about. I want to get back to running every day I can, especially in the fall~!

Some yeens for thee... that one spotted guy looked good to me for a minute, but then I inked over the pencil layer, and now it doesn't look as great. oh well. Got some ideas for the next few, but... it might be above my skill level, we'll see... ._. #16, a few days.

Won't lie, first three weeks of being off nicotine slaughtered all the joy in my life, including doing art. So grateful to everyone who popped by and checked in, though 🥰 But the drive is slowly, slowly coming back. here's a mashup of heads I did while watching things. I'll count this as one #15

God I hate doing this shit and that's exactly why I need to do this shit This doesn't count with the count, it is severely needed practice

Reptile heads. I've been very self-abusive over my art lately. "You're so far behind," I've been telling myself. Looking at this, I realize it wasn't just about skulls or anatomy... I barely understand shape and perspective. Back to more basics. You don't get curated me, you get the struggle :E #14

varietal reptile head sketches in desperate need of perspective understanding.

Absolutely 600% ran out of steam doing this mustelid one, especially trying to get the damned head shapes Just gotta keep practicing... I think I'll just practice shapes and angles for the next one. No pink hamsters, though. #13, 7 hours? 8?

a bunch of mustelid skulls, heads, and a pair of obnoxious solarisan cosplayers.

beaw~ I could only work on this in short bursts because my core is sore and swollen, but also bears. I'll do more and better later hopefully, and with 100% less pharmaceuticals in my head Next up: mustelids, I guess. :E #12, I have no idea.

a number of varying bear skull studies, different kinds of bear heads, with rushed coloring jobs

Holy shit this took forever, but I think it turned out okay! expression practice for two of the guys, Zach and Rhyat. Names may change, plans will not. also my hand aches. Honestly, I think I just wanted a reason to draw that specific poss face :V Bear with me.. #11, I'm not telling how long~

head and expression studies of a possum and gazelle.

Highjack | Feroca 🔜 ??? @highjack.cackle.us · 03/07/2026

As the battle to figure out how to draw eyes and heads rages on, here's a possum study~ Didn't bother with muscles this time because they seem to be 90% mouth lol Next one I think is going to be really focused on refining shape/expression ... drawing round things is tough. #10, 6ish hours.

many different angles of a possum's skull and head.

Why oh why did I agree to this.. A gazelle study, modeled after a Soemmerring's I was not quite happy with this one, but I was happy that I did that bottom right one by only blocking it out. He's a tired boy~ The next one may poss-ibly be better :9 #9, ?? hours

Kept going with the purrbeasts because I wasn't pleased with the last one... But I *am* kinda pleased with that mystery jag's expression. I liked puzzling it out and maybe I'll do a few of those with each study Next up, something a bit more unfamiliar for this derg 😰 #8, 6-ish hours ??

0234

Highjack | Feroca 🔜 ??? @highjack.cackle.us · 25/06/2026

Another study, this tiem of big cats. Still very sloppy, I gotta work on refining these shapes a bit. Getting muscle refs was a chore >:E Please forgive those goofy ass heads at the bottom lol #7, 6-ish hours?

Highjack | Feroca 🔜 ??? @highjack.cackle.us · 19/06/2026

Starting off with canid studies, these things take a while... I was drawing it by sight so it feels a bit sloppy and the proportions might be off, but i learned some things! Next up is big cats I think 🐆🐅 #6, 6+ hours

To keep myself on track and not lose the plot again, I've created something of an arduous curriculum for what to focus on. The goal is to stick with it no matter what! It's definitely a lot, but I want to prove it to myself. 🧡

Highjack | Feroca 🔜 ??? @highjack.cackle.us · 15/06/2026

As I continue to study and fuck/cheat/fumble around with anatomy, I remembered that I am quite fond of big cats! So I sketched out a smug cougar~ I do wonder: how do anthros get tats done? Perma-dye? Or do they shave the fur down and ink the follicles? A mystery :E #5, 6/14-15

I've never done an expression sheet before and wanted to give it a shot with Rory here! Can you tell what breed he's supposed to be? Definitely going to keep practicing these, drawing faces is tough :E #3, 6/10-12

Highjack | Feroca 🔜 ??? @highjack.cackle.us · 10/06/2026

Finished this guy up today, a baseline to see what needs improvement, what's okay-ish, etc. proportions are... something >:E I think I'm gonna do head studies next, starting with this curious canine. Have you ever gone on a run and when done, realized you missed a few things...? #2, 6/9-10

some sort of canine seated and startled by having missed a few calls or texts or maybe someone sent him a lewd picture

I've been a Trek fan since I was a wee lad. It lifted my spirits countless times. That being said, out of all the new shows, shockingly, Academy has given me that feeling again. Hope, optimism, and growth, despite the flaws. Didn't see it coming. And these two are by far my favorite characters. 🥰🖖
